Trivia / Tata, a Marcin powiedział...

  • Beam Me Up, Scotty!: It's "Dad, Martin said that his dad said...", not "Martin's dad said..." nor "Martin said...". The confusion is more than justified, as it comes directly from the title of the series itself.
  • Dawson Casting: Averted; the boy was always intended as being roughtly Radwan's real age and as he was growing up, so did his character.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The show was aired for the last time in mid-2000s by regional branch of public TV. As for now, only a handful of episodes is available in the net. And to rub some salt into the wound, it's one of few TV series that aren't accessable via official TVP site.
    • Eventually, Antena HD, one of the TV stations with nation-wide coverage started to do reruns in 2021, offering it in "episode per day" format and also as a hourly marathon during Saturdays. Internet quickly filled up with ripped episodes as a result, too.
  • Sleeper Hit: The first few episodes caught TVP management off-guard, as Fronczewski's star-power combined with the time of broadcating and novelty factornote  were enough to get everyone in front of screens.
  • Spiritual Successor: Of East Germany radio show Papa, Charly hat gesagt...
  • Typecasting: Due to his role in the show, Fronczewski was offered the main male lead in "Rodzina Zastępcza", a sitcom about a family raising adoptive children. In fact, his Engineer Kwiatkowski was written from the start as an Expy of The Father from this series to further capitalise on his popularity.
