• Funny Moments: While combing through Sonic Sez PSA files, Sally comes across one that depicts her and Sonic in one that says "Wait until marriage!" She and Sonic are less than amused when they learn that not only did Jules and Bernie approve of it, but so did Max and Alicia.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: In this fic, Tikal shared the Guardian of the Master Emerald role with a hedgehog, and in the present day Knuckles shares it with Kat, a human. In the second Sonic movie, Sonic, Knuckles and the Wachowskis become the Guardians of the Master Emerald (alongside Tails). Bonus points for Tikal's partner, Solaran, being Sonic's ancestor.
• Nightmare Fuel:
  • Dr. Robotnik's Villainous Breakdown in chapter 41 is chilling to behold. Upon finding out Sonic and co. have beaten him to the Time Stones, rather than his usual Large Ham explosions of rage, he descends into Tranquil Fury, before descending into Suddenly Shouting, still with a smile on his face, before going back to a calm state and ordering Snively to ready his latest Humongous Mecha. He spends the entirety of the ensuing fight with the Freedom Fighters alternating between calm, screaming at them like a maniac, and outright Laughing Mad while swearing he's going to use the Time Stones to erase Sonic from history. Snively and the Freedom Fighters are both unnerved by his demeanor, and it's so unsettling that Word of God confirms he creeped himself out as he wrote it.
  • Kodos from every description of him being an infamous human hating war criminal. Sonic recounts one tale he heard of him personally executing a group of human soldiers despite their surrender... by beating them to death with his bare hands and taking off their blindfolds so he could see the look of fear in their eyes as he killed them.
• Rescued from the Scrappy Heap:
  • Shortfuse, thanks to putting more emphasize the negative traits of his roboticization and dropping the Running Gag of constantly bringing up his origin story.
  • Chris Thorndyke goes from a whiny, dependent rich kid to an Adorkable, young Science Hero and member of the Freedom Fighters. Though not a front-line fighter (he's a member of their Science and R&D division, the Brain Trust), he's able to hold his own against Eggman's forces using his Nitro Glove, a high-tech gauntlet that generates explosive energy blasts, and his technical know-how has saved the others on many occasions. He's also one of the more emotionally mature members of the group. It's implied that the composite setting allowed him to meet up with Sonic earlier and keep in touch with him, helping him grow as a person.
  • Elise, since she is given Adaptational Badass and the infamous kiss is given by Sally instead of her.
