YMMV / Supper Smash Bros: Mishonh From God

Go To

  • Accidental Innuendo: Because of Rouge Angles of Satin tendencies, this happens a lot. Though, being a confirmed trollfic, the "accidental" part is a bit questionable.
  • Anti-Climax Boss: Most enemies are defeated in a single sentence, sometimes two or three if Sara feels generous enough. Even Satan gets this treatment.
  • Badass Decay: Ridley is guarding a Taylor Swift concert.
  • Captain Obvious Reveal: Ridley being the secret Antifa dragon that attacked Sara in the reboot, because a) said dragon is given Ridley's general description, b) Ridley uses copious amounts of Suspiciously Specific Denial, and c) the real-life author confirmed it in the author's notes.
  • Catharsis Factor:
    • Sara spends a large part of Chapter 12 in The REEL Sekwel mauling the Level 10 Cellular Bugworm from Xenoblade Chronicles, based her difficulty beating it in Xenoblade Chronicles. This trope normally wouldn't apply because the Cellular Bugworm is an optional boss, but according to the author notes of Chapter 11, she has trouble beating it and thinks it's a required boss, even though there is obviously a path to run right past it. She never realizes this until much later.
    • Sara also uses the fics to bash people she hates, even though in real life, they aren't as mean as Sara portrays them to be. Mr. Johnson and Becky are notable victims of this in the original and in The Reel Sekwel, Lauren is one of the main villains of the story. Sara's own mother also becomes a victim of this at the end of chapter 37
  • Crosses the Line Twice:
    • Any time a gay or "lesban" attempts to "rap" someone, it's done in such an over-the-top and inaccurate manner, that it falls squarely into this. It doesn't help that it's almost always spelled as "rap", making it sound like the person's about to drop sick rhymes on their victim instead of rape them.
    • The fanfic as a whole could count as well. It would be far more offensive if it wasn't so (intentionally) ineptly written.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Master Hand, due to being the Only Sane Man.
  • Fan-Preferred Couple: Though "Fan" might not be the best term, many reviewers like to point out the Les Yay Subtext between Sara and her friend Lauren.
  • Heartwarming Moments: Even though Sara might be a despicable human being, it's shown in the third story that she still mourns Satoru Iwata's death.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • In the author's note to Chapter 27, the author states that she believes that the entire San Francisco 49ers team is gay. About a week or so after it was published, in Real Life, 49ers player Chris Culliver got in some trouble for stating that none of the 49ers are gay and essentially stating that no gay men should be allowed in the NFL.
    • When the ESRB leak was first surfaced about a week before The REEL Sekwel was first published, many people used Bowser Jr., Dark Pit, Duck Hunt and Dr. Mario as a basis as to why the leak could be fake until it was proven to be real later. In Chapter 14 in The REEL Sekwel, Becky shows Sara the full roster, where latter used the four mentioned characters as a basis to why Sara thinks is fake. The kicker? Becky showed Sara the full roster ONE DAY after the Japanese release of the 3DS version.
    • In the first story, Sara misspells "Pokemon" as "Pacman". Come WiiU/3DS, Pac-Man is a character in the game. This may or may not be why Pac-Man is a Pokemon.
    • In the first story, "Sheik" is misspelled as "Shrek". This was before the meme of Shrek being put in Smash 4 became popular.
    • Cloud Strife's appearance in the first story becomes this with him being confirmed as a DLC character in Smash 4.
    • Fire Emblem characters seem to consistently be allied with Sara; the series would later famously introduce Gay Options.
    • Cloud's name is constantly misspelled as "Clod." And then came along a certain character who repeatedly calls people clods...
    • One of Sara's God powers allows her to instantly use her Final Smash without the use of a Smash Ball. Ultimate introduced the Final Smash Meter and although it's not instant, it does allow all fighters to use their Final Smash without a Smash Ball, albeit with lower power.
    • The fact that Taylor Swift is a close friend of Sara in the original, when in the latter half of the 2010s she'd become far more outspoken about her liberal political views and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
    • Sara's brief rant assuming Sephiroth is a lesbian woman is even more amusing after said "lesban" was confirmed as a DLC character in Ultimate.
    • In the 2018 reboot, Sakurai said that Banjo will not be in Ultimate. Guess what happened during E3 the following year.
    • Sara's Final Smash in the reboot involves her calling the police to employ Police Brutality against her opponent. Multi Versus — which has a Friendly Fandoms relationship with Super Smash Bros — had a character (Velma) with an attack that let her call the police to arrest her opponents, which was ultimately changed (to hauling the opponent away in the Mystery Machine) in part due to police brutality being such a controversial subject in recent years.
  • Hollywood Pudgy: Becky is said to be "morbadly obase" because she wears size six pants.
  • Les Yay:
  • No Yay: Bowser x Fiora, anyone?
  • One-Scene Wonder: From The REEL Sekwel, there's Mr. Sandarsan, Sara's black gangster math teacher whose very existence Crosses the Line Twice.
  • Strangled by the Red String: Sara and any of her love interests (Marth, Link, Cloud, Shulk, and Roy in the original series; Joker in the reboot). Her entire motivation for hooking up with them is to prove that she's straight, and the story shows a lot more chemistry between Sara and various females (notably Lauren, Lucina, and (in the reboot) Becky) than between her and said love interests.
  • Strawman Has a Point: Most reviewers find Master Hand to be the best character in the story, for the exact reasons the author wants them to hate him for. Master Hand's personality is basically calling out Sara for her viewpoints, but due to how the reviewers feel about Sara, they side with Master Hand. It doesn't help Sara's case that Master Hand's complaints can be summed up as her being intolerant. Most reviewers were disappointed when Master Hand was Killed Off for Real during 'The REEL Sekwel'.
