• Anti-Climax Boss: Valkalara, the game's Superboss, is a mildly difficult single-phase fight, which normally would not be that bad... except the normal final boss, Tatanga, is a grueling three-phase fight where he pulls out all sorts of difficult-to-dodge attacks, making the latter feel like a pushover in comparison, especially since she is supposed to be an entity that nearly destroyed an entire planet.

• Hilarious in Hindsight:
  • The game was released in 2010 and had Boomerang Mario before Super Mario 3D Land had Mario obtain such a form albeit from the Boomerang Flower.
  • Cloud Mario can use his hat to slow down his descent, years later, Super Mario Bros. Wonder has the Parachute Cap which does the same thing but without the need of Cloud Flower.
