  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Frank and Poot. They had a handful of scenes and every single one of them was pure hilarity.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • It's unclear what Tricia is going to do in regards to the big rebellion, given her grudge against Haley, right up until she defiantly bares her bra strap and scratches.
    • Burt's speech to Haley before her floor routine at Nationals. "Now don't you dare hold back, and floor it."
    • Not to mention the judge's final words to Haley: "You know, there are a lot of great people who had jerks for parents. We gotta stick together." [wink]
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Haley scratches on vault by jumping up from the springboard to stand on the table. Seems a little far-fetched? Well, in the 2016 Olympics, a Croatian gymnast did exactly thatby complete accident, no less.
  • Memetic Mutation: The clip most commonly repeated after people saw the trailer for this movie? "Call me." "Stalk you."
  • Narm: Big-time during Burt's pep talk to Haley before her floor performance. His over-the-top dramatic gasping makes him sound like he's about to have a heart attack.
  • Retroactive Recognition:
    • Nastia Liukin - the girl in the red leotard who won on bars - is a real elite gymnast playing herself. Liukin would go on to win multiple medals in the 2008 Olympics, including the All-Around gold, the single most prestigious award in women's gymnastics.
    • Kellan Lutz, best known for his work in The Twilight Saga.
  • Spiritual Predecessor: To Make It or Break It.
  • Tear Jerker: The scene where we finally discover just what made Haley walk out of Worlds'. Her coach had had an affair with her mother and caused her parents to divorce. Haley found out right before she had to go out onto the floor and couldn't handle it. Honestly, who can blame her?
  • Unintentional Period Piece: 2006, the year the film aired, also happens to be the year that gymnastics rolled out a massive change to the scoring system which was in place for the 2006 US National Championships, effectively dating the film to no later than 2005. note  In fact, between this, the presence of Nastia Liukin (who only made senior in 2005), and the mention of a World Championships "two years ago" (which wouldn't make sense in 2006 anyway, because there's no World Championships in an Olympic year), it pretty much could only be 2005.
