- Awesome Music: C'mon, it's Ron Jones, for Gene's sake.
- Cargo Ship: We're essentially watching a romance between Geordi and the Enterprise computer.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: The Promellians◊ look similar to the Klingons◊ on Star Trek: Discovery.
- Retroactive Recognition: Christy Henshaw is played by Julie Warner, who would later star in such films as Doc Hollywood and Tommy Boy.
- Suspiciously Similar Song: The theme of the Promellian warship sounds similar to Jerry Goldsmith's theme to Patton — though perhaps unintentionally, it actually ends up sounding more similar to Goldsmith's score for The 'Burbs, as Goldsmith had himself cribbed from his own work on Patton when writing that soundtrack.
- Values Dissonance: Geordi refers to the "gypsy violin" he programmed into his holodeck date. The term "gypsy" is generally considered to be offensive in modern times and would probably have faded from casual use by the 24th Century.
