YMMV / Stacy Keibler

Go To

  • Best Known for the Fanservice: Stacy's entrance - where she gives the crowd a Panty Shot - and her long legs are what fans remember her for.
  • Broken Base: Fans are split over whether Stacy should have become Women's Champion. She herself turned the offer down multiple times, saying she wasn't a wrestler. Some fans agree, and say that Stacy was fine in her Fanservice role and shouldn't have been properly in the division. Others feel that Stacy had the potential to be a decent champion if she had put the effort in.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Stacy was incredibly popular, despite getting no Women's title reigns or any prominent storylines. Crowds would still go wild whenever her music played. And her announcement of a 2023 Hall of Fame induction was met with near unanimous applause precisely for this reason.
  • Estrogen Brigade: Stacy has had a lot of female admirers throughout her career, with many Ruthless Aggression Era fans touting her as their 'girl crush'.
  • Funny Moments: During her segment with Jillian Hall, Stacy responds to Jillian's barbs with a slap...and then immediately looks at her hand and cringes - as if worrying that Jillian's mole might be infectious.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • The backstage segment where Lita revealed she was pregnant (in kayfabe) is simply adorable, with Stacy congratulating her and immediately offering to babysit in the future.
    • Apparently she started dating Test in real life because she felt sorry for him after Mick Foley jokingly insulted him a lot in one of his books.
    • Her 2023 Hall of Fame induction. She shares two pictures of herself as a little girl in the audience for wrestling shows, one holding up a Bret Hart sign, and saying that she answered an ad for a WCW dance contest thinking that if she got to the finals, she might meet Bret. She thanks the fans who showed up for her, just as she did for her idols.
  • Never Live It Down: She is always going to be derided as one of the most useless Divas in WWE history, which isn't entirely fair. She could wrestle, but not very well — and, since just a few years before her arrival in WWE it was widely believed (with the exception of Chyna, of course) that it was not appropriate for women to wrestle at all. And, as a few of the main entries make clear, Stacy was no weakling, and could have developed into an Action Girl if she had really wanted to. It helps that Stacy never attempted to pass herself off as a wrestler like had been done with previous Divas who were popular for their figures and/or personalities despite not being very good in the ring, such as Sable, Miss Kitty, Debra Marshall and Terri Runnels, even rejecting a Women's Championship run when WWE offered it to her. Stacy's popularity at the time also raises the point that every woman on a major wrestling show needing to be a wrestler, and very good at it, in order to be respected is a fairly new-'10s idea; Molly Holly mentioned in her shoot interview that Stacy was a non-wrestler yet still was a big star and generated plenty of money for the company.
  • Smurfette Breakout: Her Ms. Hancock character in WCW was briefly the valet of a tag team called Standards and Practices, consisting of Lenny Lane and Lodi, and became much more famous and popular.
  • Spiritual Successor: Brooke Adams popped up in TNA doing a Sexy Secretary gimmick known as Miss Tessmacher - an obvious Expy to Stacy's Miss Hancock gimmick.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: She abruptly got moved to SmackDown in 2005 while she was in the middle of her 'Super Stacy' gimmick, before she had a chance to do much with it.
