- Aluminum Christmas Trees: The medieval bowling alley is presented as a humorous case of Anachronism Stew, but in actuality, bowling as a concept has existed since Ancient Egypt, and was indeed a popular sport in 11th century England, so much so that by the 14th century, it was outlawed by Edward III due to it stealing archery's thunder.
- Awesome Music: Most of Squidly's songs are a joy to listen to, but in particular, "The King is Bad" is a merry "The Hero Sucks" Song that's equal parts harsh as it is fun and inviting.
- Franchise Original Sin: One of the biggest criticisms regarding episodes such as "One Coarse Meal" and "Are You Happy Now?" is their usage of Suicide as Comedy in a rather realistically bleak tone. "Dunces and Dragons" also contains a suicide joke with the Medieval Moments guard attempting to stab his throat with his own spear, but it's considered funnier by fans due to it not only being a Black Comedy Burst as opposed to a cynically drawn-out gag, but in context, it's used as a comical overreaction to a bad pun.
- Unexpected Character: Given that the story takes place in medieval times, few were probably expecting Sandy's ancestor to show up, let alone be a major player in the second half of the special. The special never addresses how the Dark Knight can breathe underwater though (fans speculate she was granted that gift via Planktonamor's magic).
