YMMV / Spider-Man: Finding Home

• Adorkable: Peter Parker and Kate Bishop retain this quality from their canon appearances, and feed into each other in a feedback loop of endearing awkwardness.
• Heartwarming Moments:
  • Despite his buffoonery, Alexei gives some sincere and meaningful advice to Kate and Peter for their relationship with Yelena. He asks them to look out for her, and warns them that "She will not tell you when she is hurting, she doesn’t know how." Kate and Peter take his words to heart, promising to be good for her.
  • Yelena kills Kraven and takes the White Tiger amulet for herself, because Peter needs help holding up a building. His life is in danger, and even after seeing what it did to Kraven, Yelena’s willing to put it on, knowing full well she might not he able to take it off before she loses her mind.
    Yelena: (to the Dora Milaje) In that case, I suggest you prepare to put down another cat. My Spider needs help, are you going try and stop me?
  • It’s a weird thing to bond over, but when Yelena expresses concern that Peter will think her a monster for killing Kraven, Peter mentions how he almost killed the men who killed Ben and May to show he understands the emotions that drove her. While he might be scared of what he could become if he’s pushed that far, he assures Yelena that he’d never judge her for having never had the priveledge of someone to stop her going that far. Yelena is genuinely moved by his words, embracing Peter in a manner that means he can’t see her tears as she tries to bring herself under control.
• Moment of Awesome: All parties involved are extremely impressed at Peter holding up a collapsing building in Wakanda for over an hour by himself after a support column was damaged by a rampaging rhino (likely intended as a callback to that famous moment in If This Be My Destiny...!).
• Nightmare Fuel: Witnessing Karen so easily master various spells inspires this from Strange and Wong; while they have faith in Karen’s good intentions, they are disturbed at the implications of what Ultron could have been capable of if he had mastered magic.
• One True Threesome: Although the relationship has expanded to include Shuri and Felicia, and the tags make it clear that Karen will join later, the core relationship in this fic remains Peter/Kate/Yelena.
