- Hilarious in Hindsight:
- In volume 1, issue #4, Spider-Man jokes that the reason Jameson hates him is because he's black. Seven years later, the Ultimate Marvel universe introduced Miles Morales, an Afro-Latino teenager who became the successor to that universe's Spider-Man.
- Issue #1 of volume 2 has an exchange between Ox and Boomerang in which the latter corrects the former over the proper use of word "stomp". Ox replies "Okay, Boomer".
- Squick: The "Big Time" two-parter (issues #5 and #6 of volume 1) has a few revolving around the shrunken villains:
- A shrunken Mandrill sneaking into a female prison guard's nose and using his pheromone powers to control her. Mandrill is disturbing enough as is, but this takes it to a whole new level.
- The villains escape the prison by shrinking down to microscopic size and hiding in She-Hulk's hand. We get a number of close up perspectives of them among the hairs and flaking skins of She-Hulk's hand.
- My Real Daddy: Dan Slott's run is considered a contender for this alongside John Byrne.
