- Harsher in Hindsight: Don's quip about how Aitch will probably not be alive in 20 years shortly before he is killed himself was overtly prophetic in how Aitch's actor Cavan Kendall ended up dying before the film even came out.
- Jerkass Woobie: Don might be pitiable for being a constantly angry hateful creature with no life outside his job as a mob enforcer. Fortunately, his psychotic nature and tendency to treat everyone around him like something he can stub his cigarette out on make him quite impossible to sympathize with.
- Just Here for Godzilla: Ben Kingsley's Playing Against Type role as Don Logan, and his pitch-perfect performance are the film's biggest draw.
