YMMV / Saga (Metroid)

• Crowning Moment of Awesome: Samus and Arne, with significant assistance from a lost brigade of temporarily augmented Federation Marines, Spire, and Armaud manage to defeat the Moon Hunter and Sun Stalker who had up to this point been portrayed as virtually invincible in an insane melee that gives a glimpse of what progenitor combat is really like. Notably they achieve all this while only twelve years old.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Zurvduat by sheer coincidence ends up hitting many similar plot threads to Raven Beak, the primary antagonist of Metroid Dread which wasn't even announced at the time of Saga's commencement.
• Love to Hate: Valiant's depiction of Ridley is praised as mixing being absolutely, unrelentingly vile as a person in a creepy, alien way but also being highly entertaining as he just revels in how horrible he is.
• Nightmare Fuel: The razing of K-2L and Cylosis are written with the candor of nightmare sequences and Samus' first encounter with Ridley is nothing short of horrifying.
• Tear Jerker: The exact moment where Samus and Arne lose their parents is heartbreaking, as are the sequences covering the aftermath as the two children are left almost broken shells by the traumatic experiences.
  From Chapter 8, Ragnarok: "I'm sorry, little eagle." Gyda said, choking back tears as she closed her visor and turned back to Viper; Erik giving his son one last pained smile and mouthing the words "goodbye" before he followed suit, the two hopping off of the nose of the ship as Arne screamed louder than he ever had in his life. His emotional state shattered into a million pieces, dropping to his knees and wailing every word he could think of that he thought they might listen to, anything to make them listen, anything to make them come back, trying to reach for anything that looked like it could bring him to the exit before Spire pulled him back.
