• Complete Monster: Mona Demarkov is a vampish, sadistic Femme Fatale who acts primarily based on what would either profit or entertain her. Already possessed of a vast streak of bodies—such as a man she emotionally ruined and drove to suicide—Mona attaches herself to homicide detective Jack Grimaldi and decides to ruin his life for pleasure. Along the way, Mona murders crime boss Nick Gazarra and all of his men; tricks Jack into shooting his own mistress dead; coerces Jack into burying his own boss alive; and eventually frames Jack for all her crimes. Unsatisfied that Jack will be executed in her place, Mona spitefully states she intends to murder Jack's wife next.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: One year after the release of this film, Gary Oldman would play another Fake American corrupt law enforcement agent from New York City known as Norman Stansfield in Luc Besson's The Professional. Just like Jack Grimaldi, Stansfield goes up against a young female assassin and he's also in cahoots with the local criminal underworld since he employs Tony's Mafia crew for contract killing and the Chinese Triads to conduct his illicit drug trafficking operations.
