YMMV / Rick and The Loud House

Go To

  • Catharsis Factor:
    • For those who dislikes the Double Standard: Abuse, Female on Male from The Loud House, this gets openly Defied by Rick, who calls his granddaughters out for thinking that someone bullying another person is a sign of affection.
    • Another satisfying moment comes in the chapter "No Such Thing as Luck" in which, during their climatic fight, Lincoln tells off Lynn for her awful behavior towards him as well as her inability to take responsibility for it. This was something some fans have no doubt waited for since the actual No Such Luck episode aired.
    • For anyone who couldn't stand Sergio in The Casagrandes, Rick verbally tearing him a new one for being a Jerkass to his family in "This Bird Has Flown Into Space" will bring a smile to their faces. What's more, while Sergio does apologize to Bobby, Rosa doesn't let him off easy.
  • Continuity Lockout: Despite the story retelling events from both Rick and Morty and The Loud House and following the same episodic structure, there's a considerably greater emphasis on continuity compared to both shows (especially the latter). This can make later chapters a little hard to follow if you haven't read earlier chapters. Furthermore, the story also contains nods to the respective fandoms of each show, so if you're not actively engaged in either show, chances are the references will make little-to-no sense.
  • Genius Bonus: While venting about his tortured, dualistic existence, Abradolf Lincler eventually considers working for cancer related charities due to an overwhelming fear of cancer to help center himself. As pointed out on Rick and Morty's own YMMV page, Adolf Hitler had a pathological fear of cancer and gave Otto Heinrich Warburg a blank check to research a cure for it. Abraham Lincoln, on the other hand, was suspected to have suffered a tumor-inducing genetic syndrome called MEN 2B that would have lead to his death even if he hadn't been assassinated.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • Might also qualify as Harsher in Hindsight, but in "Rick and the Casagrandes", Rick compares the Casagrandes to The Cleveland Show, constantly deriding them as more or less a carbon copy of the Loud family with similar gimmicks, much like how Cleveland's new family was compared to the the Griffin family, and saying it's no wonder the show was canceled. Later on, The Casagrandes would indeed end up getting canceled just like Cleveland.
    • In "The Citadel of Ricks", one of the alternate realities shows us Naruto as a member of the family. Come the fifth season of Rick and Morty and we're introduced to Summer and Morty's son (just roll with it) who is named Naruto.
  • The Woobie: All of the Louds take turns being the woobie in this story. Though Luan and Lynn stand out in particular.
