YMMV / Results May Vary

Go To

  • Broken Base: The cover of "Behind Blue Eyes." Some consider it to be one of the band's better performances and a reasonably good cover in it's own right, others (namely fans of The Who) find it laughably pretentious sacrilege to a beloved classic rock song with questionable creative choices which completely misses the point of the original.
  • Critic-Proof: Results May Vary was one of the worst reviewed albums of all timenote , but still managed to go platinum.
  • Contested Sequel: Though Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water was savaged by critics, there was enough love for the singles from it to save a bit of face. This album wasn't even that lucky.
  • Memetic Mutation: L.I.M.P. Say it. Discover.note
  • Narm: The Speak-N-Spell solo in their cover of "Behind Blue Eyes," not at all helped by the fact that it supplants the original's more uptempo bridge for what's meant to be a sadder one (see Wangst).
  • Squick: The "sniff on your panties" line from "Eat You Alive," especially since the song is clearly from the perspective of a stalker.
  • Wangst: The number of grief songs was a regular sticking point with critics, who didn't buy one of the most crass, petulant rock bands around trying to show their sensitive side. This is especially true of their cover of "Behind Blue Eyes," which omits the original uptempo bridge ("When my fist clenches, crack it open...") for the infamous Speek n' Spell sample and a third sad verse in an attempt to make one of the most angsty rock songs ever even more angsty.
Kitty Empire (of The Guardian): "Limp Bizkit have decided to expose their tender side. They really shouldn't have bothered [...] having seen Limp Bizkit's 'other side', you want the old, unapologetic, meathead version back."
