• Accidental Aesop: "Kids' toys in cereal are cheaply made and not worth it", if the flashback scene of the protagonists in hospital is anything to go by. Incidentally, Free Prize at the Bottom is rarely seen nowadays, if not for legal liability reasons, but society changing.
• Karmic Overkill: While Mordecai and Rigby did mess with Benson by making him pay $85 for a large sandwich, being forced to eat the entire thing within only a couple of hours was certainly overboard. The ending when they are forced to run 50 laps across the recently-constructed track despite being incapacitated sinks it further.
• Never Live It Down: This episode certainly rivals "The Best Burger In The World" at having Benson at his very worst, from threatening to fire Mordecai and Rigby if they don't finish the sandwich on time despite Benson telling them that they can order whatever they want, to preparing to fire them by shipping their stuff back to their parents, and, the cherry on top, ordering them to do 50 laps on the new basketball court. Finally, to make matters worse, while "The Best Burger In The World" at least has the excuse of airing back in Season 3 when Benson's Character Development just started to take shape, "Lunch Break" aired late into Season 6.
