YMMV entries pertaining to the video series:

Bella: Sometimes my balls don't like- touch! Like I put them next to each other and-
Kreek: [Laughter.]
Russo: Uhhh...yeah. Anyways...let's head to the- let's head to a sponsor, quick! QUICK!
Kreek: Sorry about that, guys. I shouldn't have laughed at that, oh my god...
Bella: What are you guys laughing at?
Kreek: Don't worry about it, it's a guy problem.
  • Memetic Mutation: The series has a lot of quotable moments that have been turned into memes.
    • Judges?! note
    • Anything can happen on RB Battles! note
    • #LEGCHANGE note
    • I AM RB BATTLES! note
    • PingLeaf note
    • Balls note
  • Ho Yay: And a lot of it. Let’s just say there are a lot of ship-worthy moments in this series. Here's a few examples, just from early Season 3!. As a result, a large section of the fandom delights in shipping the different competitors and sometimes the hosts together. (Much to other parts of the fandom’s dismay.) Of notable mention:
    • KreekCraft X TanqR, a favoured example of Foe Yay Shipping. It’s easily one of the most popular ships in the fandom.
    • DJ X Russo is another common ship.
    • DenisDaily X Calixo, owing to their Heterosexual Life-Partners moment at the end of their battle in Season 3.
    • DenisDaily X Sketch is another common one, and the creators themselves have made fun of this.
    • PinkLeaf X OminousNebula has gotten very popular in the wake of season 3 after both ended up in the battle back.
  • Unintentional Uncanny Valley: The 3D renders of the competitor’s avatars used for promotional material ended up going awry with iBella’s avatar due to her use of Rthro, leading to…a very unsettling image. Take a look at the reactions to this tweet.

YMMV entries pertaining to the game, challenges found in the event, and the story:

  • Anti-Climax Boss: For all of the trouble you went against JP, he turns out to be a complete pushover once you get to the Robot. While he does have a dangerous Macross Missile Massacre, said missile volley can be easily avoided by simply going near his Humongous Mecha's lower half while almost punching it to oblivion. His final fight against you isn't much better, since you can simply hack at him away without major consequences.
  • Awesome Music: "The Friends We Made", the ending credits of the Final Battle of Season 2. The lyrics constantly make fun of the song itself and the Final Battle’s extreme difficulty, but it doesn't stop the song from being an awesome rock tune.

This song doesn't make any sense, but at least it sounds pretty good.
  • Breather Level
    • Season 2
      • Wacky Wizards has an obby in which players compete with each other, and can boost their performance with potions. The catch? The effects stick until you win. This means that after drinking enough potions, the obby becomes a massive cakewalk.
      • Adopt Me! has the player simply touching three crystals, then going to the Sky Castle and complete a very short jumping sequence to get the Trophy, and the crystals are located in very obvious locations.
  • Disappointing Last Level: Season 2’s final battle has been extremely negatively received. In spite of being delayed, many have agreed that it was not worth the wait, largely due to it being extremely hard and buggy as Mountaineers and general lack of playtesting. The negative reception to the final battle was so bad that they harassed the developers over the RB Battles Discord thanks to a question in the quiz section[[note]]"Did the devs do a good job?" The answer, "No", is not the correct answer. which led to players accusing the developers of not being able to take criticism, and it even reached to the point where some even refused to do the final battle because of how buggy it was. The only positive thing most of these players said was that the end credits song, "The Friends We Made", sounded great, but when that stood out as the only good quality, it says a lot about how bugged it was.
  • It's Hard, So It Sucks!:
    • Season 2’s final battle received very negative reputations for how very, very difficult it is. The sword objectives and two of the challenge objectives listed in That One Level below were previously the hardest objectives in the event, are nothing compared to the Final Battle. The Final Battle is released in Obvious Beta state despite the delay, resulting in many bugs disrupting the gameplay, such as two players and four giant robotic hands showing up in the about-to-be-described boss battle instead of one player and two hands. The boss battle with the hands which begins the Final Battle suffers lag on low-end computers, causing your ship and its lasers to be slow and making the battle harder, is downright impossible on mobile, and has to be replayed every time you die. The code section after that suffers from the Guide Dang It! problem, not offering obvious cues on how to progress, sometimes the random codes would result in no solution and soft-lock the player, and there are Demonic Spider robots which spawn everywhere and shoot accurately at you, dealing mass damage in mere seconds. Worst of all, there are no checkpoints after finishing the code section, and plenty of hard obbies and Fake Difficulty challenges follow. It took KreekCraft about 7 hours to beat the Final Battle. Even the update which claimed to lower the difficulty still left the game in Nintendo Hard and Obvious Beta state.
    • Season 3’s final battle was treated to this as well, despite being much less buggy, (though not without its fair share of bugs early on) it was much harder, leading to outrage from players.
  • Sequel Difficulty Spike: Season 3 is much tougher than Season 2, owing to more challenging quests from within the user-created games. Oh, and while the final battle for Season 3 is less buggy, it makes up for it by being more consistently difficult, forcing you to solve a puzzle from the very first stage.
  • That One Level:
    • Season 2 had its fair share of annoying badges to obtain:
      • Robeats!'s objective, especially if they're not a fan of rhythm games, especially Robeats!. For starters, you have to get a C-rank for "Monday Night Monsters", "Smile [RB Battles]", and "Power Up". Problem is, while the former 2 songs can be completed without difficulty (as Monday Night Monsters is the first song Robeats players will unlock and Smile [RB Battles] is rather easy to C-rank), Power Up is a Level 14 ranked difficulty, meaning that inexperienced players will try to attempt to C-rank a song and fail often. The complaints generated towards the unexpected curve in difficulty from inexperienced rhythm game players led to spotco, the game's creator, to recommend the Goonie gear set to them, and later downright nerf the challenge via making that they can complete the challenges by simply scoring the required points to make it easier for casual players to complete the challenges.
      • Build Battle!'s objective. At least the above Robeats! RB Battles event at least required skill to complete. Build Battle!, on the other hand, is notorious for having an incredibly flawed objective. For starters, unlike other topics, you have to win 2nd place or above on a RB Battles topic. You heard right, 2nd place or higher or the badge will be void. What really places it here, is that regardless of how well the built art looks, envious players who have less skill in Build Battle! will try to deliberately sabotage your work by simply disliking it until their work gets 2nd place or above, meaning that it becomes less of a game of visual impression and more of a game of trying to cooperate with other players or use a good amount of alts. Because of this, it's not common for better-received artwork to lose to a single pixel. Oh, and you can't cheese it by buying private servers and getting others to collaborate with you- for the event, private servers, which were originally free now costed 1000 Robux, causing the developer to be hit with accusations of greed and Bribing Your Way to Victory from players (especially since the other colors are locked behind the currency and the only way to get them is to either place high or buy them, which makes it even worse for new players). The only silver lining from this is that frriendRoblox has at least noticed this issue and will implement an update that reduces a player's vote weight if they aren't voting seriously, and that the Private Server price was reduced to a more tolerable 500 Robux for the event.
    • And Season 3 was no better, with its fair share of annoying events:
      • The season began with a really hard Badge from Piggy. While one of their badges required you to complete the RB Battles map which is rather easy, the hard part comes from getting the other badge. Simply put, you have to go into the final chapter of Book 1 of Piggy, and then use the dynamite not on the floor, but rather where an inconspicuous part of where you're supposed to blow it up, avoiding a Jump Scare from a Sentinel in the process. Then you have to crack a code from a safe, whose hints are incredibly well-hidden unless you look up a walkthrough. Then you have to use a crowbar to mine some green crystals for some reason, and then you have to hope that no one used too many bullets, or otherwise you'll be locked out of the final part, as you have to shoot the now-glowing green pillars in the middle floor. Fortunately, the final part isn't as difficult compared to the rest, but it's such an exercise in irritation that going on to a Private Server may not help for this one.
      • Funky Friday's objective is also irritating. After going through an obby, you have to defeat DJMonopoli, RussoTalks, and SabrinaBrite in a Wolfpack Boss fight with a 2022 version of "The Friends We Made". Oh, and it's the hard version, not the normal version, and while Friday Night Funkin''s mainstream popularity may helped introduce players to the Rhythm Game genre, it can still throw off some players not used to it. The only saving grace is that you don't have to redo the obby to participate in the boss fight, and you only need to score 40,000 points. The objectives were later nerfed to simply participating in the song, making this a non-issue.
      • Both of Shopping Wars's objectives are by far considered by many to be the hardest, largely due to a plethora of Game Breaking Bugs: For the main objective, escaping Planet Bloxmart is much harder than it seems, because it starts with a Flash Sale that lasts the entire round, meaning that players will and can engage in PVP to sabotage others, but aside from that, there are multiple stage hazards that are capable to insta-killing you, making escaping from Planet Bloxburg harder. Hope you like hearing "IMMA CHARGING MY LAZER" a lot. The other objective, required to get Sabrina's Cyber Shredder, is much harder. First, you have to flood the Bloxmart map in a very specific order. Next, you have to do the same to the Candy Kingdom map. Then, you have to use the Key Sword on a door to access the boss fight. On top of that, if you die at any point or leave the server, you have to start completely over from the beginning. Considering the PVP-oriented nature of the game, combined with all the bugs, getting this badge is a lot more tedious than it sounds. Oh, and the Private Servers cost Robux (thankfully at a cheap price of 15 Robux). Not being helped at all was that the bugfixes were only announced after the 10k Golden Guitar Bits were given out, much like the final battle of RB Battles Season 3, sparking concerns about RB Battles' quality control. The only saving grace is that the main boss, Bob is rather pathetically easy to defeat in comparison.
      • Tower of Hell requires you to finish the RB Battles Tower by collecting three halos and then going on top of the tower. Putting aside the fact that players can use power-ups to both the others' advantage and disadvantage, some parts of the obby can be really hard to complete, and if you die at anytime, you have to start all over again.
      • Both of Arsenal's objectives are a major pain as well: The main objective requires you to beat the Shooting Challenge in less than 50 seconds. The average time of completion is far above that time, to the point where it was nerfed to simply beating the objective in 90 seconds, but if you have to play on mobile, this still may not be enough to complete it on time. For the other objective, which is required to get the Green Bits in Build a Boat for Treasure alongside the aforementioned Piggy example, you have to dress up as the Delinquent skin, then strike 6-well hidden cubes around the map, some which even requires you to literally go outside the map box. Oh, and one person can only achieve it per match. Doing this on a Private Server is a must, though keep in mind it costs about 100 Robux.
    • For a non-user created game example, getting the Doe. Even if you somehow knew how to equip the boots and pet to get a jump boost, the pet barely has enough jump boost to get past the platforms, which require very fast and precise timing.
  • That One Boss: In the final battle of Season 3, iBella is extremely nasty for being the first boss in a Boss Bonanza. You have to play on a modified version of the Lava Escape minigame, which is extremely hectic, and chances are, if you don't memorize the course in time, she will likely curb-stomp you every single time, which is hard considering the pace she goes and the fact that she has a lot of moves to your advantage while your gadgets are disabled. It's possible to perform a skip on this step, but doing so is difficult. DJ Monopoli and SabrinaBrite were not kidding when they said that the games were rigged against them.
