  • Arc Fatigue: Quite a few fans wished that the Yi-Ti Arc was over and done with. It is currently the longest of Joffrey's loop and though it showcased Joffrey's evolution to a Four-Star Badass and an epic Last Stand, a lot of readers wanted him to be back in Westeros already.
  • Crosses the Line Twice: Since this is a "Groundhog Day" Loop and the main character is Joffrey, the line is not so much as crossed but cartwheeled whenever necessary.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: The Blackworks loop, specifically Dany's madness and Faceā€“Heel Turn, is difficult to read after the very similar way that Season 8 closed her character arc.
  • Jerkass Woobie: The author managed to take Joffrey, a Complete Monster in the original series and turned him into this. It does help that he receive a healthy dose of Break the Haughty and underwent an intense Character Development after suffering over his torrent of bad decisions.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Heavens yes. It starts with Canon!Joffrey, with all of the monstrous evil, selfishness, and entitlement that entails, and subjects him to repeated deaths and pain that completely shatter him and his delusions of any notion of innate power he may wield. At his emotional nadir, he reaches out to anyone who can possibly help him rather than outright ordering them to, and after a pep talk with Ned Stark, he gradually begins to turn inwards and discover who he really is and what is it that he can do, starting him on the road for the truth.
  • Squick: The author tends to describe a lot of injuries with loving detail.
    • In the chapter 31, Sansa, after hearing that her father and brother had been killed, tries to seduce Joffrey. The latter could only describe with horror at Sansa's attempts (describing her smile, at one point, as horrifyingly terrified) Made even worse when Sansa tries to placate Joffrey by saying that Arya would help in bedroom.
