- Alternative Character Interpretation: The comments come up with some crazy ways to interpret what’s happening in the game world; some people think that Aylia (Josh’s character) is Tsundere for Cotton.
- Archive Panic: Five years of Pro and Noob adds up to more than 500 videos, with Monster Hunter World alone taking up over 300, and every episode ranges from twenty to forty minutes. Catching up is a very tall order.
- Crosses the Line Twice:
- The Kut-Ku Cutters skit in the Lagiacrus episode. Cotton’s matter-of-fact delivery makes it funny instead of horrifying.
- Cotton’s obsession with heads on sticks, and a lot of Cotton’s jokes in general.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: During the first Wind Serpent Ibushi video, Josh and Cotton make jokes about Somnacanth being an e-girl streamer. Several months later, Capcom themselves made the exact same joke to promote the PC release of Rise, which Josh was quick to lampshade.
- Nightmare Fuel: While the exchange immediately following is gut-bustingly funny, when Cotton first reveals the Kut-Ku Cutters, the video zooms in on their cold, dead eyes and plays an ear-piercing shriek.
- Signature Scene: Cotton's first encounter with Zamtrios, specifically the moment it inflates.
