YMMV / Primetime Glick

  • Awesome Music: "She's a Blowin'" from the first episode. It's a fun Broadway-style music number with amusing lyrics.
Jiminy: (singing) Grab your hats, and hold your johnsons, / Mother Nature's 'bout to do the twist, / She's lookin' meaner than Charlie Bronson / When that snot-nosed Brooklyn punk has got him pissed!
    • "Going All Night" from The Movie. So catchy it plays over both the opening credits and end credits.
  • Heartwarming Moments: In a strange way, the outtake in The Movie of Kurt Russell cracking up. What's heartwarming about it is that Martin Short just smiles and waits, knowing how ridiculous his Jiminy Glick character is, and lets him get his giggles out.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: During the Steve Martin interview, Jiminy remarks that he saw "Shop Girl". At the time, "Shop Girl" was only a book, so Steve was confused that Jiminy thought he saw a movie of it. A few years later, a "Shop Girl" movie was actually made.
    • The "An American Pope" trailer became this after an actual TV series about a Pope from New York debuted in 2016.
  • Older Than They Think: Irving Cohen, Jiminy's boss, has his roots in a similar character Martin Short played on Saturday Night Live (the sketch where Eddie Murphy played Gumby, talking to two old timers in a deli), right down to using the same catchphrase: "Gimme a C, a bouncy C!"
  • The Woobie: Jiminy accidentally makes Ben Stiller out to be this in his interview, during the questions about his brief time on Saturday Night Live.
Ben: I wasn't really there for that long. I was there for about five weeks.
    Jiminy: You failed.
    Ben: I left.
Jiminy: You were no good on it.
Ben: I couldn't figure out how to make it work for me.
Jiminy: Why didn't you just write some sketches, come up with some characters, slick the hair back and get a laugh. Was that too tricky for ya?
Ben: I was young, I was inexperienced. I was trying to find my way.
Jiminy: And because you were Jerry Stiller's son, that carried a lot of weight on you.
Ben: There was a certain expectation, maybe.
Jiminy: And you weren't delivering, 'cause he used to be funny. And he would always get the laughs, and your mother and father are so gifted. So when you went out there and, I imagine, just bombed and bored people so desperately, it made people feel like maybe you shouldn't hang around.
    • Adrien van Voorhees also; this is especially true in the Regis Philbin episode where he was a filler guest after Russell Crowe storms out before the interview; the audience actually groans when he's announced! And during the interview, Jiminy's usual tactless statements/questions cause Adrien to hold back tears.
    • Jiminy himself in a deleted scene from The Movie:
Kevin Kline: If you want to do your homework, and then come and interview me, then fine. I don't give resumes at these functions. (Jiminy looks like he's about to cry) If you don't know my work, go back to Butte, read up on me. You're in the big leagues now! This is Toronto!
