• Fan Nickname: Fans have dubbed Ash as a Pikachu as "Ashachu".
• Hilarious in Hindsight: In this episode Ash ends up turned into a Pikachu by accident. A few years later, the “Pokémon Mystery Dungeon” spin-off was released.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Ash being turned into a Pikachu could have led to some interesting plot or gags related to a human becoming a Pokémon, especially considering the small number of examples of characters like this (one such being Baron Alberto from Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai). But nope! He turns right back in an instant not even 10 seconds into the next episode. Even worse, the promo for the episode made it look like Ash's transformation was the central plot of the episode.
