YMMV / PHIGHTING!

Go To

  • Awesome Music:
    • The opening theme "PHIGHT!" starts you on the right foot with this game, being a manic track with a guitar and an oriental string instrument on lead. Unfortunately, this song only plays on joining for the first time (and first start-up during a Phestival). However, its replacement on subsequent start-ups, "HIGH TIME PHIGHT!" does not disappoint, simply being a cut down version, essentially being the second verse with a much shorter intro.
    • "OOF-Y GROOVES is the theme for Rocket Arena, and, as the name implies, uses the iconic "oof" death sound as its main instrument. It makes for a manic track for the fights to be seen ahead, and also serve as an homage to the iconic sound effects of the gears and GUI effects of early Roblox the game pulls from.
    • "READ BY THE BOOK is an unused track (though still present in the official volume 1 of the OST). Unfortunate, because it's a very chill and downbeat track compared to most of the rest of the OST, and wouldn't be out of place playing over the intercom of a store somewhere.
    • Its remix, "ARTIFACTUAL RECOLLECTION", however, is its opposite in a lot of ways, including its used-ness. It starts with a funky guitar, and then launches into an Amen break-laden breakbeat song, with an abundance of samples (including a slowed down slightly version of the Crossroads theme, Humming the Bassline from Jet Set Radio). It's used as the background track for ROBLOX Museum.
    • "SEE YOU ON" and "THE FLIPSIDE" are a very good matching pair of songs. One is the Leitmotif of the in-universe pop duo Flipside, also playing as music in the lobby. The other plays in Crossroads during a Phestival, and replaces the music during a 66.6x round.
    • "PANDEMONIUM CODA" is the default song that plays during One Minute Left, at least for the maps that don't have one already. It's a high energy song with some unconventional rhythms and a screaming guitar lead, giving you (or your enemies!) the energy to possibly manage a Heroic Second Wind.
    • This game already takes plenty of pages out of Splatoon's book, but it takes another with "DEVIL'S PANDEMONIUM", by having Flipside cover and remix the song into a special version that plays during a 13x or 66.6x match
    • "OVERTIME!?" is one of the highest energy songs in the soundtrack, fitting for when it plays. It features Key After Key's signature keytar on main melody, and, if that wasn't enough, around a minute in it drops, kicking the energy ever higher, serving almost as a reward for those who can make it there.
    • "SENSORY OVERLOAD", a remix of the above for 66.6x matches kicks the energy up another notch or ten, being a high energy track with punchy drums, a faster tempo, and of course the drop is no different, as the guitar comes screaming out the other side, as you fight to get that bread- er, bux.
    • "LAUNDROMADNESS" plays in the ROBLOX Laundromat, being a fast paced, funky track with a sax on lead, and keytar solos in between. The pulsing bass and four-on-the-floor beat urge you ever onward in your quest for kills, and the frequent catches in the tempo and pulling off a Truck Driver's Gear Change twice do not lessen its propulsive nature, culminating in an outro that implies that there was more coming.
    • "DODGEBRAWL" is a track fitting for a fight to the death in such a small, colorful environment, making liberal use of the guitar soundfont and Rhythm Heaven samples. Not only that, but it also features a powerful and juicy drum line to provide a stable framework for everything to sit on. The energy jumps up in the last minute, featuring a higher key and a more propulsive lead.
    • "STYLISH STICKUP" plays in the Rob The ROBLOX Bank stage, and would not be out of place in a spy movie, or perhaps Team Fortress 2. It features a sax on lead, and, this being a Key After Key song, keytar. It only goes up from there as the alarms go off, and the man at the desk yells, "get those robbers out of the bank, dead or alive." Sirens wail in the distance as the energy (and speed of the sax) ratchets ever upwards as the final minute speeds by. Fingers crossed you win!
  • Foe Yay Shipping: Despite the fact that they despise one another, and neither is afraid to admit it, Medspace is still one of the most popular ships involving either of the characters.
  • Ho Yay:
    • Sword and Rocket seem pretty close, being best friends since early childhood, and even apologizing to one another if they happen to kill the other.
    • Slingshot's relationship to Skateboard is described as "how Rocket is to Sword", so naturally this applies as well.
    • Katana and Hyperlaser are canonically drinking buddies, and have far and away more dialogue with each other than with any other one person. They also both have Dark and Troubled Pasts, and are man enough to talk about them with each other, apparently.
