Phighters

    Phighters, in General

Melee Phighters

    Sword
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sword_1.png
"Prepare yourself!"
Sword is a versatile melee Phighter, efficient at close range combat yet limited in long range. His stats are well-rounded, being a common choice with newcomers. With 150 health and 50 shield, Sword can maneuver well using his abilities, and can fare well alone in a fight.

    Skateboard
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skateboard.png
"Watch this trick!"
Skateboard is a melee Phighter who specializes in mobility and burst damage. He is exceptionally speedy while on his skateboard, playing well on larger maps, and performing remarkably at hit-and-runs. While off his skateboard, however, he is sluggish and vulnerable. Taking more than 35 damage takes Skateboard off of Skating mode and into Standing mode, so watch out!
  • Cool Board: Self-explanatory.
  • Fragile Speedster: Skateboard only has 75 health and shield points each, below average for a melee Phighter. Hit-and-run attacks are his specialty, and if one were to play him as they would a Phighter such as Sword, they would not fare well.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Skateboards aren’t meant for murder!

    Biograft

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/biograft_2.png
"MEET YOUR DEMISE!"
Biograft is a melee Phighter with a high damage output, mobility, yet low health. With the lowest amount of hitpoints ingame at 25 health and 100 shield, players using Biograft pressure enemies while utilizing Biograft's mobility to minimize the damage they take. One must be skilled to play Biograft effectively, as they are the least beginner friendly Phighter.
  • Caps Lock: Biograft's dialogue is written in caps lock as a stylistic choice, for they are a robot.
  • Death or Glory Attack: Biograft's Phinisher, Overdrive, Boosts their damage and attack speed along with regaining shield upon kills or assists, but constantly chips away at their hp. Downplayed as Biograft can recast Overdrive to end the attack and explode, damaging nearby opponents.
  • Glass Cannon: They excel in dealing rapid amounts of heavy damage, but have the lowest health and shield compared to the rest of the Phighters. To top it off, they have a heat meter that allows them to attack faster, but will cause them to explode if it reaches its capacity.
  • Mathematician's Answer: In dialogue with Hyperlaser.
Hyperlaser: Which Biograft am I with this time?
    Biograft: ME.
    Hyperlaser: Very informative.
  • Robot Soldier: There is an entire army of Biografts, all created by Subspace. They were all built with the intent of being killing machines.

    Katana
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tana_7.png
"For broken honor... and retribution."
Katana is a melee Phighter whose gameplay style is centered around pulling enemies in and keeping them from escaping. With high damage output and a large amount of hitpoints, Katana performs well on the frontline. He, however, is the slowest character in-game, has poor mobility, and limited ranged attacks.
  • Counter-Attack: Katana's E ability slows him down and negates damage. If the damage received is at least 10, Katana attacks with the damage dealt depending on how much he counted.
  • The Grappler: Katana is the slowest character in-game, but once an enemy gets within his grasp, it's hard to escape him. He can pull in enemies using his Q ability, Thread Tow, and attack them there.
  • Samurai: Self-explanatory.

    Banhammer
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/banhammer_6.png
"Your verdict is... Guilty!"

Ranged Phighters

    Rocket
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rocket.png
"It's showtime!"
Rocket is a ranged Phighter with exceptional AOE damage and DPS. He performs well at a mid-ranged distance, mounts heavy constant pressure, and can tear large chunks out of a vulnerable enemy's hitpoints. He is quite squishy, however, as he only has 50 health and can be damaged by his own abilities.
  • Happily Adopted: Rocket is the adopted son of Zuka. He even trims his horns to resemble Zuka’s.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: His attacks affect him as well as his enemies, and he can very easily die to his own attacks if one is not careful.
  • Rocket Jump: As Rocket's name suggests, he is able to do this. Heck, his Q ability is called Rocket Jump. You can pair this with his Secondary attack to jump even higher.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: As Rocket's name suggests, his main form of attack is bombs and explosives, and his gear is a rocket launcher.

    Slingshot
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/slingshot.png
"Better dodge!" / "Can't catch me!"
Slingshot is a very versatile ranged Phighter with amazing haste, utilizing this to his advantage depending on playstyle. He is one of the fastest Phighters, with a bullet speed of 0.1 seconds and performing well at mid-ranged distances. Slingshot is great for players who want a character who is fast and easy to use. He, however, is quite squishy, with only 100 health and 50 shield. And despite his great mobility, most of his attacks require him to stay in place, creating good openings for enemies to come in for the kill.

    Hyperlaser
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/laserhyper.png
"I'll see you in hell."
Hyperlaser is a ranged Phighter with an exceptional attack distance and power for his range. His gameplay style is focused around sniping from far distances, as he is slow and has trouble attacking from close ranges. With 75 health and 100 shield, he can tank a good chunk of damage. His Phinisher, Eviscerating Ray, is a One-Hit Kill attack, and as long as he lands a shot, he can get another.
  • Barrier-Busting Blow: If a Hyperlaser shoots a Boombox while his Protecting Overtone is up, it gets rid of the shield entirely, and grants Hyperlaser another bullet to shoot.
  • Cold Sniper: Hyperlaser is a stoic and cold mercenary who gets the job done, sniping enemies down with ease.
  • The Faceless: He sports a helmet that covers his face entirely. Furthermore, all art drawn of him without his helmet has his face obscured with a Censor Box.
  • One-Hit Kill: His Phinisher, if landed, kills the enemy instantly.
  • Professional Killer: Hyperlaser, as mentioned earlier, is a mercenary. He has the highest kill count of every Phighter.
  • Weaponized Teleportation: Hyperlaser's E ability, Voltaic Phase, creates a small explosion around him after he teleports.

    Shuriken
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shuriken.png
"Time to pick up the pace!"

    Scythe
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/scythe_1.png
"Leaving so soon?" / "May I have this dance?"
Scythe is a ranged Phighter who excels in versatility thanks to her ability to swap back and forth between a melee-oriented playstyle and a ranged-oriented playstyle, making her able to perform well both at close-range and from a distance. However, with 75 HP behind her 75 shield, she's fairly squishy, and she may require some strategizing from players to determine which of her two kits will best suit whatever situation she's in.
  • Battle Trophy: Apparently Scythe takes her victims' horns as trophies, as implied in one of her possible exchanges with Vine Staff.
Scythe: I think yer horns would make for a fabulous addition to my wall.
    Vine Staff: W-What?
    Scythe: Nothin’.
  • Combat Stilettos: Scythe wears high-heeled riding boots (which she simply calls “heels”) as part of her outfit. She doesn't have any problems fighting with them on.
  • Implied Death Threat: After Rocket calls her a "serial-killing, cult-worshipping psychopath," she makes what could very well be one of these towards Zuka.
Scythe: Let's just say that yer father would receive a very unfortunate package if ya keep talkin' like that.
  • The Most Wanted: Scythe is the most wanted Phighter. It's also the name of her trailer's song.
  • Serial Killer: She's confirmed to be one in her lore. This is also acknowledged by Rocketnote  in one of their possible match intro exchanges, which Scythe responds to by telling him to watch his mouth and making her aforementioned vague threat regarding Zuka.
  • Spin Attack: Her rifle Phinisher, Final Serenade, has her start rapid-firing bullets while spinning around before ending by shooting a higher-damage blast.
  • Swiss-Army Weapon: Her weapon is a combination of a scythe and an automatic rifle. Her M2 ability, Switcheroo, allows her to swap back and forth between using either form of her weapon.
  • Weaponized Teleportation: The Phinisher she uses when using her scythe, Stalking Ambush, has her turn invisible, teleport to a nearby enemy, and slash at and apply her target to them immediately afterwards.

Support Phighters

    Medkit
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/medkit.png
"Let's not do that again."

  • Combat Medic: Although he despises his occupation as a medic, he is incredibly proficient at healing. Medkit is effective in both attack and support, dealing both damage and healing allies with ease.
  • Don't Call Me "Sir": Medkit tells Katana to not call him "Doctor" in one of their dialogue exchanges.
  • Healing Shiv: His form of attack is a gun filled with healing cartridges—curing cartridges, as they are called. They heal allies, but deal damage to enemies.
  • Only Sane Man: Medkit works with Scythe and The Broker, both of whom are definitely less than sane.
  • Weaponized Teleportation: Medkit's Q ability, Crystal Shift, teleports him to an ally, creating an explosion.

    Boombox
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/boombox_6.png
"Let's lay down the beat!"
Boombox is a support Phighter who excels in crowd control with his knockback and defense-based abilities. He efficiently controls the battlefield, and his shield-centered abilities make him a popular choice for frontlining players.
  • Barrier Warrior: Boombox's E ability, Protecting Overtone, creates a temporary barrier around him, rendering him invulnerable to bullets and long-range attacks.
  • Ground Pound: Boombox's Q ability, Bass Boost / Beat Drop has him jump into the air, pulling enemies in, and then deals damage as he slams back down again.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Boomboxes are not typically considered weapons.
  • Magic Music: Boombox's attacks give his allies boosts and shield bonuses.
  • Make Some Noise: His gear and form of attack is, well, a boombox. The player has to hit beats to a metronome to create shockwave-like attacks.
  • Shield Bash: The player can use his E ability while it's still up to destroy it and deal damage to any enemies in front.
  • Shockwave Stomp: Boombox's Phinisher, Raining Tacos, has him jump into the air and land back down, creating a shockwave that not only deals damage to enemies and sends them flying back, but also grants a temporary shield that makes allies nigh-invulnerable.
  • Shout-Out: The audio that plays when Boombox's Phinisher is activated is the first 2 seconds of the song Raining Tacos, a reference to how Raining Tacos was the default song that played on the Boombox gear when used ingame, and to how it was the most popular audio available on Roblox.

    Subspace
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/subspace.png
"My greatest invention!!"

  • Evil Is Hammy: All of his dialogue ends in double exclamation marks. When he asks questions, it ends in an interrobang.
  • Mad Scientist: He is the head scientist and engineer of Blackrock, and his intentions are... less than noble.
  • Trap Master: Subspace specializes in area denial, littering invisible mines across the map that explode and inflict Damage Over Time.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: His attacks affect him as well as his enemies, and he can very easily die to his own attacks if one is not careful.

    Vine Staff
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vinestaff.png
"Nature prevails!"

  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The responsible sibling to Shuriken. Reminds him in dialogue to use his head this time.
  • Petal Power: Her main form of attack (and healing!) are flower petals she shoots from her gear, the Vine Staff.
  • Transflormation: Vine Staff is cursed, and her left arm has been turned into wood.

     The Broker
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crustyoldman.png
  • Faking the Dead: The Broker has faked his death multiple times to escape police.
  • Feel No Pain: Broker has lost his sense of touch and taste due to nerve damage.
  • Hated by All: Despite Broker's assumption that everyone wants to be his friend, the Phighters dislike him to varying degrees.
  • Jerkass to One: Despite his supposed friendliness, he despises Ban Hammer and Katana, calling Katana a "filthy traitor" and hating Ban Hammer for imprisoning him.
  • Mistaken for Prank Call: If the player calls Broker while playing as Biograft, Broker doesn't find it believable and tells you to not call again.
  • Stalker without a Crush: While using the phone in the lobby, he will respond differently depending on which character calls, sometimes resulting in stalker-like dialogue.
    • If Slingshot calls, he says "Sometimes I watch you cook from the windows. But don't worry about that!"
    • If Skateboard or Boombox calls, he says "I know you, but you don't know me."

    Dom & Valk
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dom_84.png
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/valk.png
Dom (above) and Valk (below)
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Valk and Dom are near opposites.
    • Valk is extroverted and loud, while Dom is more quiet and relaxed.
    • Their main colors are opposites on the color spectrum.
    • Valk is below average height while Dom is above.
  • Whole Costume Reference: Valk and Dom's accessories and names are directly based off of real Roblox hats, Valk's being the Valkyrie, and Dom's being a part of the Dominus collection.
