YMMV / Patrol 03

Go To

  • Ensemble Dark Horse: Carmen is really popular with /co/.
  • Heartwarming Moments:
    • The monster that possesses vehicles takes over a tow truck and menaces Patrol 03 and Snap. However, after losing a tire and crying, Snap rushes to help the monster, anyway (as he can't bear to see a vehicle in pain). It pays off with a Heel–Face Turn and tries its hardest to rescue Snap. And, when it's employed to sabotage Snap's prototype bus at the contest, it helps him win it, instead.
    • Those moments where Carmen thanks Snap with a peck on the cheek can be this, given how it shows how appreciative she is of his work for them.
    • There's a minor one involving Pamela in the final episode where when Rhino tosses her nephew through the air, she reacts with concern for his well being and frantically catches him.
  • Nightmare Fuel:
    • Pamela Bondani is fond of flashing off Slasher Smiles, and some of them are rather demonic.
    • Many of Molo's monsters and experiments.
  • Popular with Furries: Quite naturally. As said above, Carmen and Pamela are two favorites out there.
  • Squick:
    • One of Molo's monsters is a giant bug that feeds on garbage and uses it to create a disgusting stench. And another episode had Molo messily eating a meal of cheese-coated, writhing maggots, as he discussed matters with Bondani. Both occasions are lampshaded by her visible disgust.
    • There was the metro monster, which was a giant, wormlike beast that ran a length of track through its insides. It trapped the metro cars and sent the Mayor and his entourage through a long stretch of digestive tract. Although the effect was lessened a bit by the presence of corny Halloween decorations lining the walls.
  • What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: It is, but it still has a shocking amount of edgyness (and not exactly limited to Parental Bonus given how obvious it is most of the time), a rather solid continuity (the series itself could be considered a large arc) and a plot that, minus the monster stuff, wouldn't be out of place on a regular cop thriller film from The '90s (really, how often do you see sexy corrupt cops conspiring against politicians in children's cartoons?). Much of this comes from the show's very European sensibilities despite its American setting and the fact that one of its co-producers was based in Canada.
  • Values Resonance: A kids' cartoon where one of the main characters is disabled would be very much welcomed in today's world as disabled characters are rare in animation and usually supporting or one-off characters if they even appear at all. Plus there's the fact that Carmen is always treated as an equal to her able-bodied colleagues.
