  • Alternative Character Interpretation: The Gamemaster's Guide encourages you to give Friend Computer a different interpretation to increase the paranoia of your game. Is it really a badly overpatched piece of legacy software rendered paranoid and confused by decades of rival programmers trying to subvert it to its own ends? Or is it fully aware of what it's doing, and every bit of confused actions is part of a carefully maintained charade?
  • Audience-Alienating Era:
    • The general consensus is that 5th edition was largely irredeemable, to the point where the degree to which it didn't happen is higher than those which, literally, didn't happen.
    • West End Games' Second Edition Metaplot adventures ("The Secret Society Wars," the post-Crash Alpha Complex, and the "Vulture Warriors of Dimension X" series) also get a lot of well-deserved flak from fans.
  • Paranoia Fuel: The point of Straight.
  • Spiritual Successor: To Judge Dredd, another series about helmeted lawbringers in a satiric future dystopia, with both featuring Fantastic Racism toward Mutants.
