- Cargo Ship: "M-Bike" from the album "4-Track Demos". As her boyfriend at the time commented, "She could have just told me she didn't like my motorbike..."
- Nightmare Fuel: Has its own page now.
- Tear Jerker:
- "This Mess We're In" from Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea had an entirely different implication after 2001, especially when set with a video of 9/11.
- "Horses In My Dreams", from the same album, sounds like a desperate cry for help.
- "To Talk to You" from White Chalk is also pretty depressing, as it's a song about PJ mourning the loss of her grandmother.
- What Do You Mean, It's Not Political?: Polly has made a point of saying her album Let England Shake is not really political.
