• Ass Pull:
  • Rumple gaining control of the Dagger. Which doesn't make sense since it was reunited with Excalibur. It was the Dark One (Nimue) who caused the dagger to be cut off from the sword in the first place, so if anyone would know how to do it again it'd be Rumple, and he did have a potion in his shop which could accomplish it, but that potion's existence also came out of nowhere. Although it is possible information on how to make it may have been in the Dark One Chronicles Rumple mentioned in the previous episode.
  • Emma hearing the Dagger, which she shouldn't be able to since she no longer has any connection to the Darkness. It's hand-waved by the fact that she's an ex-Dark One who happens to be still alive.
  • Hook's father being woken from the sleeping curse by a woman he'd never met before. True Love's Kiss has been established to only work when the love is both mutual and acknowledged. He tries to Hand Wave it by saying he could hear her caring for him. Within the show's logic, the only way this could be feasible is if the woman herself was once under a sleeping curse, and they met in the astral plane.
• He Really Can Act: After a whole half-season of mostly scowling and saying "bloody hell" over and over, Colin O'Donaghue brings it when Hook has to make a Heroic Sacrifice.
• Narm:
  • Hook's father says "while I slumbered", continuing the tradition of Season 5 Purple Prose.
  • While searching Gold's shop, Emma hears Henry screaming in panic from outside. Cut to outside, and he's standing there quite stoically.
• They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: The Dark Ones coming back to the land of the living. They really do nothing except mark the souls of the living beings they want to sacrifice in exchange for being able to live again. Although the implication is that they can't do anything until they are fully in the flesh again, and that if the souls had been traded, they'd have then been free to do plenty of truly awful things to Storybrooke to snuff out the light.
• Voodoo Shark: Rumple becoming the Dark One again by finding a potion in his safe that would somehow suck all the magic out of Excalibur.
