• Diagnosed by the Audience: Aside from her Freudian Excuse of growing up in a future world without processed food, it is speculated that Echo might have some issues reading people's emotions and body language. That, combined with her high intellect and various idiosyncrasies, there is a high possibility that Echo might have Asperger Syndrome, or some other form of Autism.
  • Some fans think Max is autistic probably due to him not understanding figurative language as seen in The Class Act and the graphic novel.
• Memetic Mutation: A minor one started in the episode "Breaking and Entering", when Food-Ball Joe tells James that he's "too old to order off the kids' menu" when he tries to order Dino Nuggets.
• Mis-blamed:
  • It did not take long for people to accuse Oddballs of being the reason behind the cancellation of a proposed Bone Animated Adaptation due to the show being announced so shortly after the latter was cancelled. This despite the fact that Oddballs was developed in a timeframe completely different from Bone and that the aforementioned announcement was more of a case of bad timing.
  • It was also announced to be getting a second season about a week after Inside Job (2021) and Dead End: Paranormal Park were cancelled, leading fans of those shows to pin Oddballs as the reason why Netflix screwed them over.
• Popular with Furries: A few furries took a liking to Max the crocodile for his quirky personality and background. Even though his popularity waned a bit after he was revealed to be a schoolkid (not helped by the voice direction for him that misled people), he still proved to be one of the better characters out of the cast.
• So Okay, It's Average: Viewers and critics, regardless of whether they are fans of the TheOdd1sOut, view this show as this at best.
