  • Asshole Victim: Lee sometimes winds up becoming one of these.
    • The episode 'Coffin' has Andy and his friends. Their hi-jinks result in Lee getting buried alive. They repeatedly make things worse for him. Andy tells him not to phone the police for help because it will cost him his job at the undertakers and Steve tells him to dig his way out, resulting in him almost drowning in soil. Meanwhile, Macca is more interested in Lee's phone network than his mortal peril, and Big Pete spends the whole time doing nothing but insult him for being afraid and sensible. When he is eventually rescued thanks to Lucy's quick thinking, Andy's gang brush the whole thing off as if it was no big deal and continue insulting him for being scared. When the police arrive and arrest them all for desecrating a grave (as a result of them going to the wrong graveyard), Lee, fed up with their stupidity and selfishness, refuses to back up their story and lets them get carted away in a police van.
  • Heartwarming Moments: The "Examination" episode of the fifth series. Considering the episode's entire plot revolves around Lee's testicles, it has some pretty sweet moments. Tim and Daisy celebrating their 4th anniversary and Lee's genuine concern for Lee are highlights. Some of the dialogue works quite well too.
Lucy: This isn't a laughing matter, Lee. Promise me you'll start checking yourself. I'd hate for anything to happen to you.
    ...
    Tim: Just tell her.
    Lee: Why?
Tim: Because if you tell her what you told me, she'll make you go to the doctor's. I know how it works; you'd jump through a hoop if she asked you to.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: In "War," Lee insists on downing a huge bottle of milk because he doesn't want it to spoil while the family is away. Not long after, on Taskmaster, Lee Mack says he doesn't drink milk due to being vegan.
  • Ho Yay: Lee and Tim's relationship strains the edges of what's platonic. Best illustrated in "The Wedding," where Tim's arrival is staged like someone saving his lover from marrying the wrong person.
