YMMV / Non-Canon Ina Week

YMMV for Non-Canon Ina Week. See here for the YMMV page of the original mod.

  • Awesome Music: This mod features many songs remixed into symphony orchestra pieces, several from pop culture and two / three from different games; Hollow Knight and Touhou Project.
    • The credits theme "Stand By Me" is a climatic and epic piece sung by Ina in playable form to close off the week / mod.
    • The first Freeplay exclusive song "Inapurgation" is a remix of "Expurgation" from The Tricky Mod that tones down the frantic nature of the original with its slower pace and chiller Ina vocals while keeping all the tension and grandiose in the form of it's backing instrumental.
  • Breather Level: After the absolutely brutal "Inapurgation" and "Eldritch Phantasm", the final freeplay bonus is... "Inaposter." As in, Among Drip in the style of the rest of the mod's soundtrack, with no mod-charting. Compared to the previous songs, that's a relief.
  • Continuity Lockout: Understanding why the second half of the week is a Hollow Knight reference (beyond Ina's transformation resembling the Knight) requires at least a cursory understanding of its endgame, which is unlikely due to where this story is found (being a Friday Night Funkin' mod made by/for hololive fans).
  • Harsher in Hindsight: The title of this mod, Non-Canon Ina Week, is titled as such as a self-aware nod to being a fan-made side story to HoloFunk, disconnected to the main plot while still pulling influence from it. Due to the numerous issues related to the development of the previous continuity, as well as the story's handling of Aloe's graduation/backstory, NCIW is now non-canon from the original story in another sense with the resulting 6.0 Continuity Reboot.
  • That One Attack: In "Eldritch Phantasm", the note-dense section that comes in two/thirds of the way into the song, including the actual second half variant with Inaknight, is rather unforgiving in comparison to the rest of the song. Whereas the rest of the song mostly consists of holds to match with the vocals of the original song, which can at least be easily memorized due to the repetition of the chorus, this section is likely to cost you a life or two trying to input all those notes while simultaneously avoiding the halo notes.
