YMMV / Nezumi Man

Go To

  • Cult Classic: Despite being a relatively obscure shareware Mega Man fangame and only in Japanese, the game has been met with a very warm reception from fans of the Mega Man series, and has effectively been adopted by the fandom. The game's even gotten the Roahm Mythril perfect run treatment, and Butter Nezumi appears as a boss in the second Make a Good Mega Man Level Contest—a testament to its fame.
  • Fan Nickname: There's no name for any of the enemies nor the fortress bosses beyond Gyoniku himself, so naturally they get this treatment.
    • "Abomination" for the giant fish heads that act as the Big Eye of the game, coined by Roahm Mythril in his perfect runs.
    • To recap the Gyoniku Stage boss fan names:
      • Stage 1's boss is generally called "the Octopus" (occasionally nicknamed "Tako").
      • Stage 2's boss is called "the Dango" (jokingly called "the kebab" by a few players).
      • Stage 3's boss is called "Maneki Neko" (or occasionally "lucky cat").
      • Stage 5's boss (the final boss) is either called a "Spider Monkey" when trying to refer to it seriously, though other times it befalls such titles as "that... thing" or "abomination", given its exceedingly bizarre nature.
  • Funny Moments: The Big Bad face-planting into the ground after the defeat of the Final Boss. It's even rendered in the "PERFECT FASHION" card on the end screen!
  • Goddamned Bats: The swallows glide high in the air at a leisurely pace, until they swoop down at Nezumi swiftly and without warning.
    • The robotic fish heads with legs, or "Abominations". Effectively, they're this game's answer to Big Eyes. Their bulky hitbox and odd way of movement makes moving around it difficult, occasionally giving you no other option but to fight them—and they hit hard when they damage you! And they also shoot projectiles... Better hope you know what you're doing.
