• Broken Base: Was Applejack in the right for sending away Twilight from their quest or was she an idiot? Fans are split on either topic.
• Cargo Ship: Twilight and her goofy-faced scepter, aka Twilicane.
• Crosses the Line Twice: Discord shows Twilight a picture of herself mourning over Celestia's apparent defeat and taunts her about it by adding in crying baby sound effects. Sick but hilarious.
• Epileptic Trees: They've gone berserk after the Mystery Box, wondering what could possibly be in it. Meghan McCarthy has tweeted that the box contains Twilight's extra Twilicanes.
• Fan-Disliked Explanation: The results of the long awaited original conflict between Celestia and Nightmare Moon was a brief fight that ended with Celestia defeating her before Nightmare Moon did anything worse then briefly KO her. This seemingly undermines Nightmare Moon's in-universe infamy, since no one but Celestia actually saw her or suffered anything worse than a few out-of-schedule moments of night due to her, and Princess Luna's Guilt Complex over it, since she was defeated before actually doing anything to warrant such guilt.
• Fanfic Fuel: Twilight isn't the only pony to wear a six-pointed star as part of a Cutie Mark; it's also on her brother's shield Cutie Mark. What if Shining Armor and a group of colts had been chosen to bear the Elements of Harmony? Stallions Of Harmony Verse explores this possibility.
• Memetic Mutation: When Discord puts Twilight in a formal Princess get-up, he gives her a cane with her head topping it making a goofy grin. The thing is only on-screen for less than ten seconds, but "the Twilicane", also known as the Twilight Sceptre, became a ridiculously popular meme; vectors of it with other characters instead of Twilight and the cane's expression slapped on other characters are widespread, it's been referenced in fangames and game mods, and it would go on to appear in several later episodes.
• Visual Effects of Awesome: The battle between Celestia and Nightmare Moon really shows off the animation upgrade for this season.
