• Complete Monster (anime): Cecilia is a mysterious black mage who, prior to the main story, in order to test her power, decimated a nearby village, which resulted in one of the villagers, Falis, becoming a bounty hunter. Cecilia also murdered Falis's father in cold blood. Several years later, it was revealed that she gave the information of the lost technology to a humble scientist of the Foreland Kingdom, Doctor Akamashi, which causes said scientist to launch a coup d'etat against the Foreland Kingdom. Cecilia also brainwashed the crown prince of the Foreland Kingdom into becoming a Black Knight in order to gain the power of the lost technology known as Teoria, and when Akamashi tries to seize the power of Teoria for himself, she then executes Akamashi by using the brainwashed prince.
• Les Yay: Either that, or both Falis and Alita suffer from acute narcissism; maybe both.
• So Okay, It's Average: The plot is completely predictable, the animation could be better, and some of the more interesting questions are never answered. On the other hand, it's only six episodes, so the general consensus is that it's worth watching anyway for the fight scenes.
• Tear Jerker:
  • The anime ending, when sadly, Dominikov, Pete, Ana, and Yuna must be killed in order to stop the lost technology from killing everyone on the planet. The fact that they (even Ana) smile as they disappear into light doesn't help.
  • From the first episode, Alita's heartbroken reaction to the death of her friend and handmaiden, Milano. The poor girl just breaks down into tears at the sight of Milano's corpse.
