- Broken Base: There are actually quite a few people who enjoyed this modern twist on the most famous Creepy Good family, some truly enjoyable the new macabre nature of the Munsters, not to mention Marilyn, who got a little more characterization than her 60s counterpart. And the pilot did receive decent ratings.
- Creepy Awesome: The whole family, but especially Grandpa, now more of a traditional vampire and more murderous than Al Lewis' Grandpa.
- Ensemble Dark Horse: Grandpa, because Eddie Izzard.
- Funny Moments:
- Count Vladimir Dracula using an iPad. With a quill.
- Marilyn Munster's personality has made her more of a Rounded Character in this. So while she still looks like the quintessential 1950s beautiful blonde, she's perfectly okay with murder and is impressed by the house she's offered, where a murderer had lived.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Quite a few people weren't happy with the many changes from the source material, most notably the family not appearing to be expies of the classic movie monsters (such as Herman not being a giant, deformed classic Frankenstein's Monster with the flat head and neck bolts), and Grandpa being evil.
- Visual Effects of Awesome: For a TV show, the effects in the pilot are exceptionally high quality.
