  • Awesome Music: Oli's 1st episode ends with a nightcore parody of ABBA's "S.O.S"; he later uploaded a short of the original cover.
When you're in the mine and it's not looking fine, say, "S.O.S."
Your hunger's getting low, you're starting to walk slow, say, "S.O.S."

  • Fan Nickname: On Tumblr, the series is more commonly referred to as "MCSOS" or "SOS SMP" to prevent tagging conflicts on the site.
  • Friendly Fandoms: With the Empires SMP due to creator overlap.
  • Memetic Mutation: There is no lore in Ba Sing Se. Explanation
  • Moment of Awesome:
    • Any time a player manages to obtain another Fate Coin; in most cases, they've done something impressive to deserve this.
      • Oli obtaining the "Caves and Cliffs" advancement by dropping from the build height limit to bedrock isn't particularly noteworthy in itself, since he's not the first to get that advancement, but the fact that he water-bucket clutches the fall is something that has not been replicated by anyone else yet. He deserves the stack of diamonds fWhip bet for anyone that could achieve such a feat, as well as that Fate Coin.
      • While tracking down the stronghold to fight the Ender dragon, Joey accidentally triggers a raid at Sausage's base due to having the Bad Omen effect. While this results in a lot of screaming, the entire server (minus Lizzie and Joel) unites to fight off the raid, collectively earning a Fate Coin each… with zero casualties.
      • Owen's assigned task challenge is to defeat the Ender dragon alone, which he responds to by adding the Self-Imposed Challenge of doing so with his bare hands. While Scott is hesitant and questions Owen's sanity, Owen ultimately succeeds in literally punching the dragon to death after taking out the End crystals.
    • Any time a player is brought Back from the Dead.
    • Sausage managing to obtain a wither skeleton skull first-try, with an unenchanted sword to boot.
  • Writer-Induced Fanon: While nothing concrete has been stated in canon so far, following the events of Sausage's 10th episode that more or less confirm that a supernatural force exists overseeing the events/challenges and dictating the distribution of Fate Coins on the server (and later events supporting this), one can barely throw a stone in the Tumblr side of the fandom without hitting theories, headcanons, or fanfics about the Fates manifesting as a Physical God and/or fWhip being possessed by them, with or without Alternate Identity Amnesia for humour or angst depending on the interpretation.
