YMMV / Miguelito

Go To

  • Bile Fascination: One of the two main reasons of so many people being interested in this series, the other being the fact it was (and still is, to a lesser extent) a very obscure lost media. The comment section for the episodes is full of people pointing out the flaws on the series' writing and acting, as well as the blatant copies.
  • Ham and Cheese: Lara Córdula makes her character Dona Tita even angrier than her Mexican counterpart Doña Florinda. In most scenes she appears in, she is absolutely hysterical and screaming extremely loudly.
  • Padding: There are several scenes which go on for a long time just to advance the plot or make the episode longer, and don't really contribute to anything or don't really have actual jokes. A notable example is a scene in the first episode that goes on for several minutes, where the kids are seen trying to make a cake, and there really is almost nothing beyond that.
  • So Bad, It's Good: General consensus about the program is that it is so unbelievably poorly-done and acted, that it loops back into being laughable. Aspects such as the actors' strange acting (especially Miguelito himself, who always sounds unamused and bored expressing very little emotion, and Dona Tita, who screams almost of her lines in a very over-the-top manner), the rip-offs of El Chavo as well as of other programs, the generic or weird episode plots, and slow pacing.
  • Suspiciously Similar Song: There is a recurring background music on the show which has almost the same melody as Jean Jacques-Perrey's The Elephant Never Forgets. Coincidentally or not, that music got mostly famous for being used as the opening theme for El Chavo del ocho.
