YMMV / Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem

• Alternate Character Interpretation: Do Dethklok really not care about to Toki and Abigail in the first part of the Opera, or are they simply trying to convince themselves they don't? The track "Partying Around the World" lends credence towards the latter.
  Pickles: Oh, no, no, we don't miss people; Oh, we can hardly tell that they're gone!
  Murderface: If you think bad thoughts, push 'em away!
  Skwisgaar: With certains peoples gones and the rumors goings round, Our records sell better every days!
• Animation Bump: The whole movie. Most of the show's animation is consistently limited sure, but it slowly got better with each season going from Season 1's very choppy animation to Season 4 being smoother and having a wider variety of movement. By the time we get to this movie, however, you can unironically say that its gorgeous to look at.
• Broken Base: On whether the poppy musical numbers (particularly the Thriller sequence) were well done, or if they just didn't fit Dethklok and should have been replaced with their usual death metal.
  • Older Than They Think: Of course fans seems to forget that the show has done different musical styles other then death metal.
• Fridge Brilliance: It would make sense that when Ishnifus starts talking about Toki being their brother, Pickles would be the first Letting the Air out of the Band. Considering that while Toki and Pickles are decently close Pickles already has a brother and they definitely don't have the most positive relationship at that either.
• Epic Riff: "The Duel", Skwisgaar and Toki's guitar battle, is nothing but a series of these.
• Memetic Mutation: "WE HAVE OUR BEST MEN ON IT; WHAT ELSE ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO?" and "KEEP THE PARTY GOING!"
• Padding: Some fans feel that the special doesn't really get rolling until it's about halfway through.
