  • Harsher in Hindsight: The scene where Arnesen (Preben Mahrt) loses his temper with Vicki and smashes her jazz record. Mahrt's step-daughter, Susse Wold, later revealed that Mahrt had been physically abusive towards her and her mother in real life.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight:
    • The German officer that Auntie Møghe hits looks like M. Bison, the Big Bad from Street Fighter.
    • Mr. Schwann (Arthur Jensen) rudely rebuffs Arnold Winter, when the latter asks for a pay raise. The character of Mr. Schwann was later written out of the series, because the director got fed up with Arthur Jensen's constant demands for more money.
    • Agnes and Røde's youngest son, Knud, is born at about the same time as the Varnæs' have a second daughter, Helle. Røde's friends jokes that the two kids will make a cute couple someday, to Røde's dismay ("My son is not marrying into the Capitalists' camp!"). Word of God has revealed that Knud and Helle Varnæs would indeed end up marrying each other, had the series continued.
    • Auntie Møghe's 100-years-birthday — after the series' creator Lise Nørgaard reached her 100-years-birthday on June 14th, 2017.
  • Les Yay: Iben Skjern and the driving instructors wife. Word of God has later confirmed this.
  • Memetic Mutation: In Denmark, Mrs. Jessen's excuse for eating sweets: "It's not because I want it, but I NEED it."
  • One-Scene Wonder:
    • Kirsten Rolffes completely dominates the episode where she appears as Aunt Anna, Mads and Kristen's fundamentalist sister from Jutland.
    • Former Danish teen idol Ib Mossin as the Danish SS officer who visits Mads and Ingeborg to tell them that Holger is dead.
    • Builder Jessen's wife (Bodil Udsen) is only in a few scenes in the last episodes - but what scenes. Even Dr. Hansen is thrown off course.
  • The Woobie: Ulla, so much. First she is Hans Christian Varnæs's affair, gets pregnant and has an illegal abortion, then after she's fallen in love with another man and is soon to be married, he dies.
