  • Daniel mistaking his father's lecture about the virtue of thrift for a prayer. Even Mads has to smile:
Mads Andersen-Skjern: When I was a representative I always traveled in the 3rd class, and slept on the station benches many a night ...
Ingeborg, Daniel and Ellen Andersen-Skjern: (interrupts, in unison) ... so I could put money aside and eventually get my own business.
    Daniel: Amen.
  • The dogs, Daisy and Kvik, mating while Arnesen talks with Misse Møghe and the bank employees look at it through the window. What really sells it is Arnesen and Misse Møghe not noticing until Mrs. Møghe asks where the other dog is just as Pig-dealer Larsen comes back and claims that he and Arnesen have become related.
    • Then Mr. Varnæs comes home and tells the story, with Maude being the only one not to find it funny, with a Think Of The Cildren reaction.
  • Mads wants to surprise Ingeborg with some new furniture. He ends up trapped under the couch and has to be rescued by Ingeborg, Gudrun and Arnold Vinter.
  • Auntie Møghes last stand against the Germans.
    • Mrs. Møghe in general.
  • Professor Andersen is so boorish, crude and insensitive that it often Crosses the Line Twice, such as his reaction to his "friend", Violet Winther, serving a less-than-favourite dish:
Kødrand!? My late wife never served kødrand. She knew my feelings for boiled mince.
  • The One Dialogue, Two Conversations situation. Misse visits Maude and Hans Christian to tell them that her husband is dead, just as the news of Hitler's suicide has broken.
Misse: Well ... now he is dead ...
Hans Christian: Yes, isn't it just wonderful!
