• Fanon: Like Triassic before it, despite being a fan-made modification and unrecognized by the official series' developers, Mandibles has earned enormous popularity in the Carnivores community, being considered by many a true sequel to the original trilogy.
• Memetic Mutation:
  • The first creature available to hunt, Macrelcana, due to its tendency to escape beyond the map boundaries. People often jokingly expressed their concern that the cricket-like creature was escaping into the real world.
  • Spiders in Mandibles, due to the creator's statement that true spiders won't be added to the game.
• Nightmare Fuel: Let's just say you'll have a hard time playing this mod if you suffer from entomophobia. Oh, and the giant prehistoric arthropods are actually the least of your worries...
• Sequel Difficulty Spike: Mandibles is considerably more challenging than its official prequels.
