Trivia / Mandibles (2017)

• Promoted Fanboy: Trike Ducket, an artist and Carnivores fan, was commissioned by Poharex to sketch some creatures for his mods. In Mandibles' case, Ducket designed the Seymouria, an amphibian inspired by one of his original characters.
• What Could Have Been: The texture for Diplocaulus was originally more vibrant, with bright green skin and red eyes making it resemble a tree frog. However, it was changed to a dull brown and green color with black eyes due to the original skin sticking out like a sore thumb in the dull environments.
  • Various fish, the previously-mentioned Seymouria and larval, pupal and female forms of the Holcorobeus were all planned (the fish and Holcorobeus stages even getting modeled), but due to Poharex's Carnivores mods being put on indefinite hiatus, it's not known whether they'll even get released at all.
• Hey, It's That Sound!: Several examples among the creatures:
  • Fittingly, most of the creature sounds come from Walking with Monsters: Hylonomus uses the sounds of the Petrolacosaurus, Diplocaulus uses sounds from the Hynerpeton, Meganeura and Arthropleura use sounds from the... well, Meganeura and Arthropleura, and Jaekelopterus uses sounds from the Brontoscorpio.
  • Eoprotura uses sounds from Halo 3's Flood.
  • Pulmonoscorpius, Jaekelopterus and Inutilis use sounds from Alien's Xenomorphs.
  • Manipulator uses sounds of the Velociraptor from Disney's Dinosaur.
  • Protosolpuga uses spider sounds from The Hobbit.
  • A few creatures use sounds from Expedition (or rather its TV adaptation Alien Planet), particularly Jaekelopterus (Sea Strider and Groveback) and Inutilis (Bladderhorn and Arrowtongue). The Daggerwrist's cries can also be heard in some areas.
