YMMV / Makers of Uno

Go To

  • Broken Base: Either the Makers of Uno games are enjoyable in their own right for casual players or there are better modern games for them to play. Similarly, the series' usefulness as a gateway for the tabletop scene.
  • Ending Fatigue: Uno, Skip-Bo, and Phase 10 are known to have extensively long games due to their scoring setup. Phase 10 is notorious as it cannot be shortened in a way that keeps the spirit in the game intact. Phase 10 Twist is slightly popular than the original because the game ends quicker and those who didn't go out can keep playing new phases.
  • First Installment Wins: Uno is the first game that International Games, Inc. published, the game that still sells even today, and it's the game that kick-started the Makers of Uno series that continues to this day even with Mattel purchasing the rights.
  • "Stop Having Fun" Guys: Among more serious board game enthusiasts, as they'll turn their nose away from these games (and most mass-market games in general) without any second thought.
