- Adorkable: Neither Desumi or Fudou have much experience with dating. For their first date, Fudou misinterprets his teammate's advice to go "someplace fun" as suggesting that he and Desumi should go for a workout session.
- Friendly Fandoms: It is very likely that watchers are also Toku fans. Not to mention other series heavily inspired by Tokusatsu such as Miss Kuroitsu from the Monster Development Department and Superwomen in Love!.
- Harsher in Hindsight: It's much harder to see Fudo as a charming romantic lead after his English dub actor, Anthony DiMascio, was exposed for sexual abuse and assault.
- Heartwarming Moments: When Hojo confesses her crush on Desumi to Fudo, not only does Fudo not get even the tiniest bit upset or jealous, he actually compliments her for having great taste in women.
- Older Than They Think:
- This isn't the first time a red Toku hero and a villainess fall in love with each other. Gekisou Sentai Carranger (which was also considered an Affectionate Parody of the Super Sentai series, while being a full Super Sentai series in and of itself) already did that in 1996 with Kyousuke Jinnai/Red Racer and Beauty Zonnette. Certain fans have even come to the conclusion that the series is most likely inspired by the couple.
- At about the same time, Special Duty Combat Unit Shinesman had a similar story in its 2-episode OVA.
- This also isn't the first time a Sentai-themed villainess has had to deal with an unwanted transformation suggested by the Big Bad. Desumi was eventually chosen for a promotion by Bosslar, which entailed her getting mutated into a gorilla monster, much to her shock and dismay. Back in the late 90s, Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, the main villainess Trakeena got really upset because her father Scorpius wanted her to enter into his cocoon and become a more monstrous Insectoid Alien like him, since she valued her human beauty out of vanity. Fortunately for Desumi, she got the right to turn down the transformation (Trakeena got forced into it during a battle with the traitorous Deviot, which caused a Fusion Dance that also caused Sanity Slippage).
- Playing Against Type: Kana Hanazawa, who is usually typecast as Shrinking Violet females or Cheerful and Bubbly characters, plays as the aggressive, hot headed tomboy, Kiki Majima.
