YMMV / Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood

• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The short battle sequence between the fortune teller and the leprechaun. While the leprechaun routinely uses magic, this film is the first time we see a human use magic against the leprechaun. The fortune teller, Esmerelda, is apparently a witch and goes full on Harry Potter in her brief fight with the leprechaun. Not only does it come out of nowhere (she's not shown doing such outright magic in her earlier scenes) but even her death is strange given we only see a quick slow motion shot of the leprechauns eyes glowing while looking at her crystal ball, followed by her screaming. It's a lot to unpack.
• Special Effect Failure: The scene where the Leprechaun rips a girls gold tooth out of her mouth and takes her jaw with it. The tooth was clearly in her upper jaw, but when the Leprechaun throws the jaw away, it's the lower jaw. A similar thing happens when he rips an officer's leg off. He clearly grabbed the right leg, but we see that the left leg was removed. And there is NO blood pouring out.
• The Woobie: Emily. She's saving up for college and wants to get out of the ghetto, making a new life for herself. Unfortunately, with the exception of her friends, she's surrounded by jerkasses who love to mock her for her ambition to get out, saying that "there ain't no black people" at the college she wants to attend. Fortunately, some of her detractors get a bout of (unintentional) Laser-Guided Karma courtesy of the Leprechaun.
