YMMV / Last Ounce of Courage

  • Audience-Alienating Premise: To people who do not subscribe to the brand of Christianity this film supports, it comes across as this due to having a reputation of being "The War on Christmas: The Movie."
  • Bile Fascination: The only reason those outside of the target audience's brand of Christianity would watch the film is for a weird inside look into the psyches of how many people who believe in the War on Christmas see the world.
  • Designated Hero: Most of the characters really, but especially Bob due to his Grumpy Old Man attitude (if not just being a straight-up Angry White Man), his Wangst regarding the War on Christmas, heavy insistence that he's a patriot, and just overall Unintentionally Unsympathetic attitude.
  • Glurge: How the film's many detractors view most of the movie, with a huge dishonorable mention going to the climax in which they show Thomas's final message which ends with him getting killed by a bomb in front of many families. And instead of being horrified that they watched footage of a man die a rather gruesome death, the audience feels rather patriotic in seeing a soldier's brave sacrifice and goes along with celebrating Christmas again.
  • Retroactive Recognition: Jenna Boyd, who plays Maddie Rogers, one of Christian's friends who helps him make the school play more religious, would later become better known for playing Paige Hardaway in Atypical.
  • Special Effects Failure: The lights on the Christmas tree that Bob places at the town's center are pretty obvious CGI. It's rather ironic that in a film devoted to celebrating "real Christmas," the producers didn't bother putting up real Christmas lights on the tree.
