YMMV / Knight Terrors

Go To

  • Funny Moments: There's something amusing about seeing the Joker, still retaining his trademark pale skin and green hair, working as a bored office drone for Wayne Enterprises in his nightmare. What's more, he genuinely starts getting into The Real Housewives of Gotham of all shows when he's off the clock.
  • The Scrappy: There's been little positive reception to Insomnia, the Big Bad of the event. Ranging from his rather boring design and dull backstory, he's been described as a watered down Freddy Krueger with some asking why Doctor Destiny wasn't the actual Big Bad. A few even mentioned the Gargoyle from Teen Titans would've also worked in the same capacity.
  • So Okay, It's Average: After its completion, the general consensus has been the overall event was a largely average time waster with a generic villain. Beyond that, readers are still annoyed by Knight Terrors for interrupting the strong momentum Dawn of DC was building.
  • Tainted by the Preview: Like with many other past crossovers, some fans were annoyed that yet another Crisis Crossover will be interrupting the ongoing titles of Dawn of DC right before they really caught steam.
  • Tear Jerker: In the "Arsenal" back-up story, Roy's nightmare is missing out on seeing Lian grow up.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: The Nightmare Leaguers each get a spotlight in the tie-ins, since they exist to set them up, but the finale doesn't really show much of them in the waking world, making everyone scared of superheroes. It's not even clear how many of them there actually were (all of them? Just the Trinity? Somewhere in between?) or if they did anything to provoke this beyond just being unsettling.
  • Take That, Scrappy!: Fans were at least satisfied to see that Insomnia is now in Hell being tortured for all eternity.
