  • Breather Boss: The first encounter with King Doo is far easier to deal with compared to the mid-bosses you've fought up to this point. Unlike Gigant Edge, Bonkers or any of the Sphere Doomers, King Doo lacks their Lightning Bruiser status and his own attacks can be easily outmaneuvered with the help of copy abilities. Even if King Doo does manage to hit you, you're far less likely to get stun locked or trapped in a corner because he also happens to be rather slow, allowing you to outpace him.
  • Best Boss Ever: Whispy Woods is an intense and challenging Wake-Up Call Boss, featuring lots of references to other Kirby games and a second phase with an unexpected Broken Armor Boss Battle gimmick.
  • Demonic Spiders:
    • Flamers. These lightning-fast foes rocket around the stage at breakneck speed, making their ramming attacks extremely difficult to dodge. Worse, they can sometimes turn temporarily invincible, making killing them a challenge.
    • Sir Kibble's cutter attacks come out very quickly, and they cover a huge range of about half the screen. Worse, if you want to collect all the energy spheres, you'll need to jump on one of those cutters with the Stomper Boot to access a secret room.
  • Good Bad Bugs: It's possible to make Dubior turn invisible by baiting it into tackling you at the upper part of the screen.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: In this game, Mr. Dooter suddenly gains lightning attacks after he Turns Red. Come Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe, and Magolor has to face off against Electricky Dooter, a lightning-themed Underground Monkey of Mr. Dooter, during the Magolor Epilogue. You could call it Ascended Fanon if you really wanted to.

  • Nintendo Hard: The mod started out as a Nintendo Hard version of Kirby's Return to Dream Land before ultimately taking on its own identity as a mod that changes up the level design and puzzles, in addition to adding attacks for all mid-bosses and world bosses, retooling the original game into a experience designed to challenge new and returning players alike.
  • That One Boss:
    • Red Sphere Doomers, despite showing up as early as Raisin Ruins, do not suffer fools gladly. Even their most basic Energy Balls leave behind damaging patches of fire all over the ground, and they have very similar tells for an attack that causes huge streams of fire to shoot from their wings and an explosive Sphere of Destruction around themselves. This isn't why they're on the list, however. During one of the Onion Ocean stages, there is a dimensional rift that pits the player against Twin Red Sphere Doomers. While hard enough to deal with alone, fighting two at once is more of a challenge than many of Revenge's full-fledged bosses.
    • Bonkers is the most infuriating and least predictable Mini-Boss by far. With the ability to turn himself temporarily invincible by spinning his hammer around even before he Turns Red, he can cover large swaths of the arena easily and disrupt many close-range strategies. Once he reaches half health, he gets far worse, as every time he jumps, he'll spin around some more with a radius so large, it's borderline unfair. Rarely, he can also use a Charged Attack that sends a huge shockwave through the floor and takes up about half the screen.
    • Metal General, infamous for being a Breather Boss in the original, becomes far worse here. Its movements are far faster and more erratic than they ever were in Return to Dream Land, and, like a knight boss, it has gained the ability to block attacks and will use this right when you think you've got a good hit in. Once it Turns Red, its Rocket Ride attack comes out much faster than before (though, mercifully, the game announces this with a giant crosshair), and it can fire laser beams with basically no warning. First-time players who defeat this brutal boss will then learn it isn't the end, as Metal General will make like Security Force and blow itself up, which can potentially force the player to start all over again from the beginning.
