With Jamezietocool's Persona Memeverse due to both creators having similar senses of humor and using text-to-speech programs. Some even joke that Just a Pancake and Jamezietocool are the same person; either that or Jamezietocool is Just a Pancake's Heartless/Nobody.
Similarly, Trueblade Seeker and his Final Fantasy In A Nutshell series (not to be confused with Rabtoons' version), which directly tries to mimic the style of humor as Just A Pancake. Given that the two properties are Square Enix properties, overlap was inevitable, and Trueblade Seeker's humor is very true to Pancake's style, but with a bit more swearing.
Hilarious in Hindsight: In Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days in a Nutshell, Xemnas says that Roxas is the only Organization XIII member who can wield a Keyblade, followed by a Laugh Track. Funny then, when we knew that Xemnas himself was the Nobody of a Keyblade Master possessing another Keyblade wielder and that Axel (or rather, Lea, his Somebody) would get his own Keyblade. But then, Kingdom Hearts III reveals that Demyx, Luxord, Marluxia, and Larxene are the Nobodies of survivors of the Keyblade War, with Union X confirming that at least Marluxia and Larxene's human forms had Keyblades, and Xigbar is the current vessel of an ancient Keyblade Master.
Mario appears in the "Everyone is X E H A N O R T" video as "Italian Xehanort". Sora later ends up being the final fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate... although Mario is not a Xehanort incarnation there (though he does have an alt color that is black and grey, making him superficially resemble Xehanort). Not to mention both the title of the video and the tagline of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate ("Everyone is here") are memed.
In Kingdom Hearts III in a nutshell, Chirithy points out to Sora that no one actually dies in the series. In comes Dark Road, which averts Never Say "Die" and kills off multiple characters.
χ-BLADE!ExplanationInstead of having a text-to-speech voice like everyone else, Master Xehanort's lines in these recaps are rendered instead as his original voice... speaking this word only throughout the whole thing, with subtitles explaining what he means. This only increased when III released, and one of Master Xehanort's combat voice lines is him just shouting "χ-BLADE!" as he throws it at Sora.
DARKNESS.ExplanationSince Terra-Xehanort is Master Xehanort in Terra's body, his voice in the recaps is usually rendered as a combination of Master Xehanort's Pokémon Speak and Terra's text-to-speech voice, but this time, he says "DARKNESS" instead of "χ-BLADE!" Interestingly, he doesn't speak this way in the Kingdom Hearts III Recap. In ReloGP's "Kingdom Hearts Union X" video, the thirteenth being of pure darkness speak this way as well. If it's true that Vanitas is one of those creatures, then it's odd for him.
"Where is my sister?" Explanation In ReloGP's "Kingdom Hearts Union X" video, Lauriam speaks almost solely with this phrase, which is translated when the gang is not taking about Strelitzia. The only exceptions are a few instances when he says "okay i believe you". It's interesting that he doesn't talk like this as Marluxia, in Just a Pancake's vidoes.
Special Attack:Mega Destruction Dark Ball of Darkness and Destruction...& KnucklesExplanationAnsem and Riku would often send out a sphere-like projectile that's often blocked by a certain character (i.e. Goofy, Roxas, Saix). Riku would actually express amazement he actually managed to hit someone with the move, though said person ended up being Saix who ended up tanking the hit anyway. Ansem would eventually succeed in getting somebody to be hit by this projectile when Aqua is slammed by the ball. Riku even points out how dumb she was for getting hit by it.
WOOF!ExplanationA running gag from Aced starting from "Maybe you can growl at them." After Ava tells him that he can growl at enemies, he begins a trend of barking at them instead, eventually taking to acting like a dog in the process.
"Ouchie ouch!" ExplanationWhat everyone says every time they are hurt.
Johnny's legExplanationOriginally part of an analogy to explain "Lauriam is Lauriam" (i.e, Lauriam is not Marluxia), it became a Running Gag.
"You idiot poopface."ExplanationAn insult often used in this series, usually whenever someone does something really stupid.
"Also, my name spelled backwards is Dis-"ExplanationYen Sid often concludes almost anything he says by attempting to explain that his name spelled backwards is Disney. Though he is able to say it in full in the Birth by Sleep recap, most of the time (starting with the Kingdom Hearts II recap) he's always cut off before he can say it. He finally gets to say it in full again during his Big Damn Heroes moment in III.
"Let's eat some ice cream. We are best friends." "You are right!" "HA HA HA HA HA!"ExplanationAn Overly Long Gag from the 358/2 Days recap, where Axel, Roxas, and Xion have this exchange while eating ice cream. A clear reference to the fact that this is all the game really is for a long while.
HOW UNEXPECTEDExplanationFrom Just A Pancake's "Everyone is X E H A N O R T" video (contains spoilers), after Xigbar reveals that he is actually half-Xehanort. Used in a similar vein as the "Okay, I believe you" meme above, whenever something that's obviously a lie, or a trap in the Kingdom Hearts series is revealed to be a lie, or a trap.
"DARKNESS." "LIGHT." "DARKNESS." "LIGHT." "DARKNESS." "BUT WHY?" "BUT WHY DARKNESS?" "I AM DARKNESS." "WHY NOT LIGHT?" "I LIKE DARKNESS." "DARKNESS?" "DARKNESS." "...okay."Explanation (Spoilers) From his "Kingdom Hearts 3 in a Nutshell" video, specifically the abbreviation of Sora and Vanitas' argument before the death of the latter. Many have made jokes about this, by saying that it may as well be an abbreviation of the entire series as a whole.
"SUCK MY DICK." ("Rude!" )Explanation (Spoilers)Just A Pancake's version of the "Young Xehanort don't give a fuck" meme, where every member of the Organization gets an Alas, Poor Villain moment before their end, except for Young Xehanort, who indulges in some Evil Gloating about how You Can't Fight Fate, except with Sora's quick interjection there. Made just as memetic for its blunt brevity, yet accurately concise portrayal of how Young Xehanort effectively slam-closed the Heel-Face Door when it was offered to him.
Referring to Kairi as "Carry", Riku as "Raiku," and Xehanort as "Zeenort" or "Z Naught" is also this due to the way the text-to-speech device does much the same.
Closeups of the faces of the Xehanorts... and Vexen... and of Ansem's mouth. Explanation Many of Just A Pancake's earlier videos are mostly known for making closeups of the face of a Xehanort incarnation, including: Ansem, Riku-Ansem, Xemnas, Terranort, Marluxia, Young Xehanort and Vexen, who isn't exactly a Xehanort incarnation. (Xigbar isn't in this list because he already got closeups of his eye in the games.) Exaggerated with Ansem, as the video makes closeups of his mouth whenever he says "darkness".
ReloGP is Just A Pancake's Nobody Explanation Since Just A Pancake stopped updating this series after the Kingdom Hearts III' recap, and the series was continued by ReloGP, starting from Re:Mind, people started believing that there's a connection between ReloGP and Just A Pancake.
Aqua pass. Terra no pass. Explanation How Erasqueeze gives out the result of Terra and Aqua's Mark of Mastery exam. Often used to mock YouTuberStickman Sham's Birth By Sleep Terra playthroughs, especially in videos that praiseTerra'sstrength. Bonus points for the fact Terra is actually Stickman Sham's favorite character to play as.
Hello Roxas. I am not Roxas.Explanation Throughout Kingdom Hearts Two in a Nutshell (and the original game), Sora repeatedly gets called Roxas by the various Organization XIII members. Roxas is his nobody.
