• Sequel Difficulty Drop: Or, in this case, remake difficulty drop; the original Famicom cases that the DS release features remakes of have a set time limit, but since the remakes lack it, there's no danger of getting a bad ending/game over outside of Unleashed.
• Woolseyism: The dialogue in Jake Hunter Detective Story: Memories of the Past completely nails the Film Noir vibe of the game, complete with antiquated lingo taken straight out of the genre's heyday.
