• Arc Fatigue: The Diana's birthday arc, which lasted from late August 2012, to June 2013.
• Hilarious in Hindsight: Despite her dislike of princesses, Diana's favorite My Little Pony character is Twilight Sparkle, who had become a princess earlier that year (Diana's birthday arc was in May 2013 and the episode Twilight became a princess was February 2013), and has none of the traits that Diana finds so objectionable about fictional princesses.
• Squick: Karen's crush on Clark can be a little weird since she is his Alternate Universe cousin. Yale admitted that he never knew about that.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: After Bruce acts like a twit to Karen when he takes Karen to a artisanal peanut butter and jelly shop and she orders stuff that's not on the menu, she gives a sob story about how Bruce is always being mean to her (specifically citing a time when she thinks he made fun of her clothes, when in actuality he was paying her a compliment and she assumed out of hand that he was being sarcastic). Then she turns around and tries to use it as justification for exploiting his feelings for her own ends. In the following strip, Bruce makes a long-winded explanation and apology for his actions, whereas Karen just gives a quick, backhanded apology while even claiming that Bruce deserved it.
